Misleading Sizing & Unfair Return Policy - Order MR#4633
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Marcus Rhode. I ordered the Rhode Down Trench Coat in 3XL (Order MR#4633). According to the size chart on their website, a 2XL should have a chest circumference of 131 cm. Logically, a 3XL should be even larger, yet despite my own chest measuring 125 cm, I cannot even button this coat. I have taken photos with a measuring tape proving the item is significantly smaller than advertised and does not conform to the provided size chart. I have spent a week in email correspondence with their customer service agent, Chinwe. While the merchant finally agreed to a full refund, they are refusing to provide a prepaid return label. Instead, they are demanding that I pay for intercontinental shipping from Portugal to a physical address in the USA (New Jersey), despite the item being shipped from Spain. Under EU consumer law, if an item is "not as described" or does not conform to the sizing chart, the retailer is legally responsible for the return shipping costs. Forcing a customer to pay high international shipping fees for a merchant error is an unacceptable practice. I strongly advise others to avoid this store until they honor basic consumer rights.
