UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE
I went to this office. Met with receptionist and I was asked a bunch of questions. I was called into a room--.long wait time. in walks N.P. & not the surgeon as I was told. N.P. asks a slew of questions which was very very odd, it took over 4-5 months JUST TO GET AN APPOINTMENT. My Primary sent all documents and a referral, in-fact, my Primary kept calling me to provide the documents I kept telling MAINE HEALTH, I HAVE IN MY POSSESSION, NO ONE CARES!! When I tried to explain to the receptionist that I'm NEW to MAINE, I have all the documents, they refused to take it from me. OK so I give all my paperwork to the NEW PRIMARY.. months go by and I call Primary, no one could understand why I can get a sooner appointment. I waited so long for the surgeon, I exclaimed "Finally, I'm waiting a real long time. OK. he starts chatting, give me some info and he makes me feel dumb. Then says, "Hey - can I see the scar" I'm thinking ok BUT no one gave me a gown or shorts or anything and here I am baring my upper thigh ass area? Definitely not your typical office etiquette 'et? He starts going into his speech without compassion, talks about the possibly of infections and then states a law suite happened. I tuned him when I started to tear up then as I recalled blood work from 2015 and he talks of action law-suit but says its in 2011. I was so upset and just lost it and was really upset with tears and I just started to leave after he was done talking, no compassion. Receptionist saw me very upset and offered my summary... ? ok I called 2 days later & wanted to leave a very detailed message on NP voice mail~~~come to find out-they don't have a voice mail for NP. VERY ODD, ok so I start to tell receptionist what I need...she talks over me and says what is your medication. I asked her to allow me to finish and she continues with what is my medication, totally not listening to anything I said. A few days later a RN calls not the N.P. like I asked. RN says "What trouble are you having with your medication?" I was so upset cause my message to the receptionist is a severe health problem I am experiencing and this RN calls without knowing anything. I hang up and send a message on the portal to the surgeon. HE does not answer me. I am requesting to speak to the SURGEON who ordered an MRI that was 2 hour drive from home to facility and 2 hours back. HE wont speak to me until 3 weeks later to read a MRI report and discuss surgery or not. MY PRIMARY calls me and I sit with him. I show him the return message from just RN telling me I am not being considered for surgery and REFRAIN from calling out office to see if you can get an earlier appointment you already have one and if we want to get you in sooner, we will call you. MEANWHILE, the office already told me to feel free to call their office so I can talk to the DR sooner. PRIMARY SAYS The surgeon already told me you need surgery. WE WILL NOT EVER GO BACK TO THIS WACKY UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE. A clinical matter CAN NEVER BE LEFT WITH RECEPTIONIST. THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME AND POOR COMMUNICATION AND POOR HEALTHCARE! I showed the emailed portal message from the RN directly to my Primary. The email is anything than we want to help you and friendly. Don't waste your time on a Medical Facility lacking professionalism and compassion. All of what went on here we can surmise many reasons why they treated me in this manner, but, in reality, these places rely on ratings, word of mouth, physicians being excellent stewards of healthcare and surgical procedures to keep us around and walking when possible. This team failed me terribly and I thought this surgeon was a GOD SENT, anything but. Disappointed in MAINE MAINE'S Health Care is so backwards and nothing like the rest of the EAST COAST. WE WILL GO ANYWHERE BUT MAINE'S SURGEONS. very unprofessional and still cant believe how I was treated.
