The product itself is OK. Not as good a selection as their main rival but they were offering a discount so I thought I'd give it a go. The one thing they didn't make clear was that they would automatically renew your subscription, with no reminder. And that when you went to cancel the auto-renew, you can't. You have to email them. And that they won't answer your emails. I've now cancelled the payment method I'd set up but my account still says auto-renew. Guaranteed I'll get an email when the payment fails. Ok product, dreadful customer service.

They keep recommending Indian magazines & newspapers. They claim it's geography-based, but I've changed my region from the US, to Indonesia, to even Japan and most of the recommendations remain dominated by Indian publications.

Ordered a magazine subscription for the first time, with this company. As of Jan 10th, the January issue has neither been emailed to me nor is it available on their site. They claim that they reached out to the publisher who "didn't respond". So much for a middleman! We are now well into January and I can see the latest issue of the magazine online elsewhere. Requested a refund. They ignored the request and informed me the January issue should be available by "Jan 17th". What a crock! Could have purchased the same issue in the grocery store. Moral of story? Subscribe directly from the magazine's own website or kill a tree and buy a copy!

OK when it works, but very often doesn't. Only been a member for 2 weeks, often can't get my favourite paper, now locked out for 2 days with error message please try again after some time. Unfortunately I paid for a year upfront!

Edit to say that I have received a refund for the three months they continued to charge me after I cancelled. Changing from one star to two, but can't go higher than that because one customer after another has complained about this very same problem. Magzter is....obviously....aware of this repeated complaint from customers yet continues to not address it, instead telling everyone to email an address that their site does not make easily available to fix problems individually instead of just addressing and changing what everyone is complaining about. Original post: Purchased a 90-day special-rate subscription to Magzter Gold on 4/05/2020, and cancelled the renewal by contacting Magzter's email address in early-July. I had to use the email address because good luck trying to contact them through their website. I received confirmation that the renewal was turned off. I thought nothing of it until discovering today that I have been charged $9.99 per month in July, August, and September (with Magzter, no doubt, gearing up to do it again in October). I logged into their website and went to my account and even their website says the auto-renewal was cancelled. Even THEY are saying my renewal was cancelled and yet they're still charging me. When seeing that combined with all of the other identical complaints on here, how is this anything but fraud? I would have likely made an occasional digital purchase from them before seeing this, but after experiencing this, why would I ever want to deal with them again?

Good Value for money. All my favorite magazines and newspapers in one place-love it. My one query got solved with one e-mail. Will definitely renew my subscription again. Update : 2021 : Lots of South African magazines/newspapers not part of them anymore. Did not renew my subscription.

I took out a Gold subscription 3 months ago, which supposedly gave me unlimited access to Magzter’s range of magazines. The first thing that struck me when searching for titles was how many popular UK magazines were not included in the Gold subscription but instead required a separate subscription to be paid. Disappointing but I still managed to find a number of magazines I am interested in - about 30 in total. 3 months on and 9 of those magazines have now been discontinued on Magzter with very little in the way of new UK magazines being added. I don’t know the reason for this but it doesn’t bode well for the future. Great concept but doesn’t live up to the promise unfortunately.

Signed up for the month free trial. I'm an Android user and since Apple purchased Texture and relaunched solely to Apple users I had to find an alternative for my long flights. You pay the usual monthly fee for access to 10,000+ magazines (less than 20 you'd actually ever want to read). In addition to the monthly rate, you pay 'in-app' for select magazines eg, People. Other magazines weren't even readable since they're geo-locked to the US. I really hope another company comes along to complete in this arena.
