Magical Private Travel Boutique Agency the Best
Dan, with Magical Private Travel, is the kindest, most knowledgeable and willing to help person I know!! I have been communicating with him for several years now and he's always responsive and willing to do whatever is needed to make our trip memorable! Small boutique agencies, such as this one, are the best way to travel. You might spend a little more, but you will receive personal attention, unique places and experiences and an unforgettable adventure! Stick to the boutique style travel over the crowded large travel giants. You won't regret it!

Portugal with Magical Spain
Having traveled with Magical Spain in 2015 to Spain, we knew to expect the very best and they did not disappoint! Every excursion to from beginning to end was well planned and executed! We visited Coimbra, Aveiro, Porto, the Douro valley, Nazare on the coast, Obidos and Lisbon! We enjoyed a fabulous wine tasting and tour in Porto strolled the streets of all these fabulous cities had a lovely lunch at the wine estate in the valley enjoyed a private boat ride in the valley and sailed on the Tagus river in Lisbon. We visited the walled city saw fortresses and castles, ate pastries from every city, shopped, ate and drank our way through Portugal ! It was a fabulous vacation! Much needed and enjoyed!

Portugal for 30th wedding anniversary
Our trip to Portugal for our 30th wedding anniversary was wonderful. Everything went seamlessly. Rachel was great at helping plan our trip. Our guides/drivers (Zé for Porto and Carlos for the rest) were knowledgeable and it was so nice to be driven to the different sites and not worry about anything. Highly recommend using this company for a wonderful experience!

Amazing 25th Anniversary trip!
We really loved that our entire trip was well thought out, organized, fun & professionally executed! We enjoyed spending time with our drivers & guides. They knew all the best spots to eat, drink & have our own free time. They introduced us to foods we have never tried before, took us to some beautiful & amazing UNESCO sites all while giving us the inside scoop & most interesting historical information. They were great at figuring out our likes & dislikes so they could customize our experience. That was truly appreciated!
Feliciano was so full of life, down to earth & so fun to be with!
Nacho showed us some super traditional Tapas places, off the beaten path, everything was SO delicious!
Lastly, Jorge is a true gem! We spent the most time with him. He kept things lively, was an excellent interpreter when needed, enhanced our culinary experiences to the next level & shared many of his own experiences with us that made our time together more personal & friendly…our favorite guide by far!
All in all our trip was amazing! Thanks to everyone at Magical Private Travel for putting in the hard work so we could just show up & enjoy our vacation.

Hi Michelle, I just sent you and Troy an email to express our deep gratitude for the lovely reviews and of course for giving us the opportunity to design this 23 day private Spain luxury trip and connect you with some of the best authentic local Spanish food, wine, and cultural experiences. After a few days of culture, food, and wine in beautiful Barcelona, you visited the Priorat wine region with Clos de l’Obac in Gratallops and Clos Pachem with old-vine Garnacha and Cariñena from steep llicorella terraces producing elegant,
age-worthy reds. Lunch at the wineries is a memorable experience with traditional Catalan Spanish food. You also visited the old Roman capital of northern Spain, Tarragona. Then it was down to the center of Spain to enjoy the best of Majestic Madrid's food, wine, and culture with Nacho. You also enjoyed a visit to the Andres Morate Winery as well as a private guided tour of the former capital of Spain, Toledo, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, you visited UNESCO listed Segovia, Avila, and Salamanca, Spain including an artisan cheese maker and wineries in the Toro region which borders Portugal. Next up was the Ribeira del Duero. You enjoyed the five-star boutique luxury of the Monasterio Santa María de Valbuena Hotel and private visits to numerous vetted wineries like Emilio Morro and many others (I don't want to list all of them because they wouldn't be our insider secrets anymore :- ) After the Rivera del Duero, you went north to the medieval city of Burgos, including the famous 13th-century Gothic cathedral, one of the best in Europe and also recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage List. After lunch, you continued on to the Rioja and visited an artisan cheese producer along the way. I think you learned also that Spain has over 200 types of cheeses, which makes it a world power there, as well as wine and olive oil. In the Rioja, you stayed at the most unique hotel, perhaps, of the trip, the modern architectural designer luxury hotel Marques de Riscal, and you visited eight different wineries and the medieval walled town of La Guardia, world famous for its iconic setting on a hill surrounded by vineyards. Departing the Rioja, you went north to the Spanish Basque country and the city of Bilbao where you could again see the amazing architecture of Frank Gehry, who designed the world famous Guggenheim Museum. After enjoying a few days in Bilbao, including a tour of the historic old town and, of course, diving into the world of pinchos (which are tapas in the vast country), our driver, as planned, took you smoothly to Bordeaux, France, where you were able to catch your cruise ship.
As you saw these wineries and guides would be hard to find alone, even with Claude Fable 5 or the latest Chat GPT. Don't worry, even with all of the AI we won't lose the personal touch b/c the number one thing take care of customers with Hi human intelligence and empathy and our deep relationships in Spain, Portugal, Morocco, and beyond. -- Again many thanks, muchas gracias really feels gratifying to see all the meticulous, personalized planning come together and be appreciated by lovely people like you too! Magical Private Travel - Fantastic!
My wife and I engaged Magical Private Travel (“MPT”) to manage our recent 18-day trip to Spain and Portugal. We worked closely with Dan, the Founder of MPT, as well as Rachel, the Senior Travel Specialist and a Partner. Both Dan and Rachel were great to work with!
I have always planned our trips on my own and am quite detailed and meticulous when building our itineraries. For this trip I decided it was time to “retire” from trip planning even though I was a little nervous turning the planning and execution over to someone else.
We could not have found a better company to handle our trip! Dan and Rachel initially spent time learning our interests and preferences. During the itinerary planning and design they were very good listeners, timely, patient with the large volume of my questions and revision requests and the end-product was everything we hoped it would be.
As far as the tour itself, the itinerary was perfect. The excursions were fantastic, consistent with our interests and with durations that allowed the right amount of time to relax a bit. The tour guides for our excursions were all top-notch – 5 stars across the board. It is clear that MPT has done its due diligence in building a great team of guides. The hotels were all very nice with breakfast included. Our logistics included 2 high-speed train transfers with the remainder being vehicle transfers. All of the transportation activities were timely with very nice trains/vehicles and the drivers were all professional and safe drivers.
One option they offer that we really appreciated was their all-inclusive logistics service. This included both departure and arrival baggage handling at both airports and train stations as well as a service person who guided us through both airports (including walking through the passport and security processes) and train stations.
If you are interested in a high quality private tour you cannot go wrong picking MPT to build your dream trip!!!

What an amazing Andalusian adventure…Totally Magical!
What an amazing Andalusian adventure that Dan, Rachel & their team put together for our little traveling troupe of four! We told them what we were looking for and voila, they made it happen! Starting with drivers to pick us up at the airport or move us from town to town while we enjoyed the scenery. Private tours with extremely knowledgeable guides. Beautiful hotels with storied pasts. Our private cooking class in Seville w/Amelia & Carmen that we didn't want to end & we're still talking about. Only to be followed by a meetup with Dan where he took us on a mini-tour of some of his favorite places near our hotel in Seville. A totally one of a kind afternoon tour, wine tasting and lunch with Flavio (the owner) at the convent/winery was so much fun and beyond our expectations! Not to mention all the dinner reservations Rachel made in advance which just made it so much easier on us after a day of touring - and all great choices. The icing on the cake was meeting up with Dan in Seville and having him show us some of his favorite places near our hotel.
