Randall, we’re sorry you were dissatisfied with the price, but we would like to clarify a few details. The service charge was $119, not $125, and this is our standard commercial diagnostic fee. This fee is disclosed when the appointment is scheduled and applies when the recommended repair is declined. Regarding the approximately $700 repair estimate, the recommendation was not simply to add refrigerant. Because you explained that the system has an ongoing refrigerant leak, our technician recommended removing the temporary piercing valve, installing a proper Schrader service valve, recovering the existing refrigerant, brazing the new valve into the system, evacuating and recharging the system, and adding leak sealant to improve the chances of controlling the leak. This is a more involved sealed-system repair and is priced accordingly. We completely understand that you may feel the repair cost is higher than you expected, and we’re sorry the pricing did not meet your expectations. However, the estimate was based on the work our technician believed was the proper approach to the existing leak, not an attempt to inflate the price.
