Another AARP story. I had an Arizona traffic citation I elected to take the AARP Smart Driver Online Course to clear the issue. Instead of paying the traffic fine, you pay for the course and the matter is resolved without any ding on your insurance. Being an AARP member, I elected to sign up for the AARP program. I signed up using what I thought was an AARP website, I signed up for the course and paid about the same as the traffic fine. PROBLEM is, all I got was a $20 training course. That did not clear the traffic citation and now I have been charged for failure to appear in court. No success so far on trying to clear the issues.

Created and activated an account im my name without my consent. I dont know this service and never used it, one thing is “accidental” account creation through affiliates - which is shady enough, but literally activating it too even though I never did so is way out of line!

I cancelled the subscription the same day 9/03 I signed up for it. I tried to get a refund, found out I'm out 9.99 but cancelled the subscription. I was charged again on 9/10 for 9.99. I want a refund.

HORRIBLE SERVICE

All I did was make a donation to a cause I wanted to support, and this "Link" service signed me up for an "account"! Against my will! Worse, it was WAAAAAY harder to delete this supposed account that was foisted upon me than the auto-signup that started it. I had to go through multiple steps, and Link said that it would take 120 days to get rid of the account and they may still retain some of my data!! If a charity asks you to donate via anything with "Link" in it, ask them for another way to donate!

I mistakenly signed up with Indie Law which signed me up with link.com with no consent from me. So many frauds online today. Having to fight this through BofA now..another fraud business....

What a scam. I don't know how I got signed up for this but I never got an email saying I had an account. Apparently I've had one for a few months and just today got an email with my August activity. I logged in and it showed me every bank account I have, with separate banks AND MY WORK'S CREDIT CARD PURCHASES. It's not even MY credit card and Link is tracking what my employer is buying?!?!?!?!?! Why????? Because I have my work's credit card number saved for something work-related AND I have a personal credit card saved on my work computer? It's INTRUSIVE and the passive aggressive "I'm so sorry" responses Link is giving to all of these reviews are ridiculous. They sell your information. They track EVERYTHING. There's purchases listed on my card that didn't even happen, thinking my card number was stolen and it wasn't. This is borderline illegal and ethically irresponsible but they don't care because they're profiting off of my information.

Utterly furious. Just received an invasive email demanding that I update my payment information, which I foolishly did —believing they had a direrct connection with Squarespace. I wishnow that I didn;t do that and I am trying to cancel. Thesde are 100% the tactics scammers use, and I shouldhave kn own that - even though I changed allmy information directly with Squarespoace. There are two possibilities here, both of them bad. 1. They ARE a scam, in which case people need to watch out. Be vigilant! Or, 2. They are NOT a scam but they are sloppy, lazy, entitled and used to doing everything on an impersonal, rote basis. I didn't even know what Link is until I received a perfectly legitimate looking email from Squarespace — obviously AI. I know it was Squarespace legitimately because I checked and double-checked the return address before doing anything. Both are reasons to walk away on them, and that is what I'm trying to do right now. We'll see if I succeed. If you're connected to the business and are taking the time to read this now — which I doubt — do better. Be better. Squarespace also has a lot to answer for because in the past couple of years I;ve noticed a steady stream of phishing attempts from fake sites pretending to be Squarespace. Squarespace is a major, established company, and should be doing more to protect their customers — and themselves — from bad actors, not leaving it all to seniors like myself to do it on our own. Wise up, people!
