I wish to express my deepest thanks to…
I wish to express my deepest thanks to installers Ivan C. and Erik V. for their multiple efforts to install a stairlift in a house where the attempt should never have been undertaken without “absolute”certainty and precise measurements that it would be “fit”. I appreciated Erik and Ivan’s expertise and “honesty”. I would rate them 10 stars if possible. Unfortunately, they have to follow company orders which is the reason for the one star rating. Response: My husband's safety is paramount. He suffers from severe aortic valve stenosis and peripheral neuropathy. Heart failure combined with extensive mobility issues make injury from an object extending into the hallway, even in what you choose to refer to as a “bit” is life threatening. I had previously made known the reasons for my concern over my husband’s welfare to team members. If you need verification of the severity of my husband’s condition, I would refer you to his cardiologist Jon Kim, Kaiser South Bay. I have precious little time left with the man who has been the love of my life for 43 years. I am his wife and now his caregiver, an extremely stressful role. Under the circumstances, I could not accept a product I deemed not just “unsatisfactory” but dangerous. I reject your diminution of this situation. I hope none of you ever find yourself, spouse, or family member in a similar situation.
Response from Lifeway MobilityNov 26, 2024
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry you were not satisfied with the measurement and fit of the stair lift. The measurements were within manufacturer specifications and industry standards. However, our team made an extra effort and re-adjusted from the initial measurement to reduce the amount of rail extending beyond the last step, but that was still deemed unsatisfactory by you. The rail of any stairlift needs to extend a bit past the last step to ensure a safe entry/exit at the bottom landing. Please contact our team directly with any additional questions or concerns. Reply to Updated Response -- We're sorry for the challenges you've faced and for your husband's current condition. Please know that it was not our intention to downplay the seriousness of the situation in any way. The reference to the manufacturer's safety specifications was only to explain the guidelines we use to professionally install the stairlifts we offer at Lifeway Mobility. The safety of our customers, their family members and caregivers, are always our highest priorities. Our experts carefully consider all factors to provide the safest and most convenient solutions that will meet the mobility needs of our customers. We apologize that we were unable to adjust the lift to meet your expectations for safety and comfort for your husband. Our local installers did their best to try to make it work, and we respect your decision. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.
