They false advertised a true preliminary credit review. When I called the guy on the phone was a human robot throwing the little power he had due to whatever bad day he was having to completely fail to help me. Worst experience so far. AMU was the best so far.

Take these 1- and 2-star with roughly a grain of salt.
I recommend taking these 1- and 2-star reviews with a grain of salt. Your university experience is going to be 90% what you make it. I earned a second master's degree at Liberty in Interdisciplinary Studies and designed my own specialty in early American history and literature. It was rigorous, interesting, well-rounded, and my professors were excellent. The worldview they operate from is Christian but they are not aggressive about. If you just don't like a Christian worldview at all, then simply don't go there. Their tuition and fees are on par with SNHU, Regis, and other online universities and they waive some fees for early course registration. No school is perfect but Liberty was excellent for me. Individual stories may be valid or not, but don't let them deter you, Liberty is well worth it if YOU make it count.

Burdensome & Useless
Terrible to the maximum. Liberty University has one of the most unnecessarily burdensome and incompetent admissions and enrollment processes I have ever encountered. I hold a Master of Science degree, where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA. I also hold a bachelor’s degree earned in Paris, France, more than seven years ago. I was accepted into Liberty University’s Commercial Music Certificate program, yet the university refuses to remove the hold on my account and allow me to register for classes because it insists that my bachelor’s degree be formally validated and sent directly from my former institution in Paris—an additional process that comes with an additional expense.
This is a certificate program. I am not applying for another bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, or a doctoral program. The fact that I already possess a completed American graduate degree apparently makes no difference. Instead, Liberty has created an excessive administrative burden over a foreign undergraduate degree that predates my American master’s degree. I have withdrawn and reapplied multiple times in an effort to make this work. At this point, however, I have instructed the university to make my withdrawal final. Pursuing a certificate should not involve this level of unnecessary stress, expense, and administrative obstruction. What was supposed to be an opportunity to further my music education has become far more stressful than beneficial.
Liberty University is therefore useless to me as an educational institution, and I will be taking my time, money, and education elsewhere to an institution with a more competent and reasonable enrollment process. Finally, for a university whose public reputation has already suffered considerably because of controversies involving the conduct of the former president and members of the Falwell family, this level of institutional arrogance is particularly remarkable. Liberty University would be better served by improving its administrative competence and treatment of prospective students rather than operating as though its reputation places it above criticism. It does not.

I did their adult training program for…
I did their adult training program for Legal transriptionists. It was a great learning opportunity. And since it was remote it was entirely self-paced plus my professor and the person who helped her grade my work were awesome

I absolutely hated this place
I absolutely hated this place. Went to 3-4 different universities and they were all good. I wanted to leave there so bad after my first semester. Everything about it was awful I don’t even know where to start.
But the food is amazing

Discrimination at it's finest
I earned my master’s degree in counseling in 1997 and have worked in the field for over 20 years. I returned to school to complete the courses required for licensure in Florida. At this stage in my life, that is not common—it is intentional and it matters.
I completed a course through Liberty University and then attempted to enroll in additional required courses. I was denied based solely on the age of my transcript.
Not my degree. Not my experience. Not my competency. The age of my transcript.
I was told to take introductory and basic courses despite already holding a master’s degree in this field and decades of direct clinical experience. That is not about maintaining standards. That is dismissing experience entirely.
This is age-based discrimination.
What makes this unacceptable is that I had just completed an ethics course at this same institution covering discrimination. Yet when faced with a real situation, they enforced a policy that does exactly that.
I reached out multiple times. Same response every time. No consideration. No flexibility. No accountability.
An institution that teaches ethics while practicing discrimination has lost its credibility.

AN ADVISOR WORKING FOR LIBERTY LIED TO…
AN ADVISOR WORKING FOR LIBERTY LIED TO ME ON THE PHONE AND PROMISED A REFUND WITHIN A TIME PERIOD, BUT WHEN I WITHDREW, THEY DENIED THIS CLAIM AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME 1,100, THEY WILL ROB YOU BLIND TOO!!!
I AM PREPARING A FRAUD REPORT AND WILL BE SENDING IT TO THE STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND THE FCC.
Prior to signing up for classes, I spoke with a Liberty advisor on the phone, and was promised that I would have a 30 day time period in which I would be able to withdraw and get all my tuition money back, so based on the above promise, I signed up and paid full tuition for the semester of around $7,000 dollars.
After the start of classes, which began on January 19th 2026, I had to withdraw, and contacted Liberty about my decision.
After a few days, I was shocked and surprised to see that I had a large balance left on my account.
I contacted Liberty right away and explained to them the above issue, they told me that someone would be in contact with me, it's been already over 2 weeks and no one has helped me, and no one has contacted me. Again and again they told me that someone will contact me but no one is helping. They say that there's no supervisor to talk with and that i need to wait longer.
I've spent over $2,000 of my own money on the cost of attendance, and I was promised that the cost of attendance of $722 would go into my bank account on the 25th of January, but no money was transferred into my bank account even until today, February 10.
So, I contacted Liberty and explained to them that I had spent $2,000 on the cost of attendance and needed the $722 that they promised would go into my bank account. They told me that they took the money for themselves instead.
The amount of stress and pain that Liberty is causing me is unbearable.

I earned two degrees at Liberty
I earned both my bachelor's and master's degrees from Liberty. I had zero issues using my military education benefits. I felt completely supported during my 5 years there. I did both online and on campus courses, so I'm familiar with both types. I had highly knowledgeable and professional educators.
