They prepared me for real-world work as an ID.

You get what you put into it. I decided to dedicate most of my free time to completing courses, watching videos, and networking. I finished the 9-month program in 6 months. Jill and her team helped to motivate me, taught me interviewing skills, and revamped my resume. All these are beyond the necessary skills to be an ID. I have successfully transitioned out of the classroom. I could not be more thankful for this program.

This is a rigorous program that continues to improve its courses and offerings. Mentors/Coaches provide meaningful and helpful feedback on work. The community is filled with people who are eager to learn and to help one another along the way. It's rare to develop relationships with people all over the country without even meeting them, but the connection is real and the relationships are meaningful. Thanks for the learning, support, and opportunity to earn a credential that opens the door to a whole new career area.

The self-paced structure lets you take control of your schedule, allowing you to absorb the material at your own rhythm. What sets AIDA apart is the invaluable feedback from industry professionals. I can't say enough great things about this program. Let me start by telling you how skeptical I was about a program I found on Facebook. I NEVER follow a Facebook add but this one spoke to me. I took the first JumpStart class. Sat on the info for 3 months, did way too much research on AIDA and ID work, took the JumpStart class a 2nd time and signed up. Best decision I've made in over decade!!!! I've taught for 16 years and it was time for a change. I liked teaching but it was time for a pay increase and teaching break. ID was the perfect fit. AIDA prepared me more than I could have imagined. Not only is the course work spot on for everything they are looking for in the field, it is hands-on as well. Learn as you go with ALL the support you could ever ask for. The flexibility of self-paced is amazing, yet the unending amounts of resources and personal contact support that is at your fingertips in completely untouchable in any other schooling I've ever taken. Beyond the support, you have a POD of classmates that become your family. You will feel in a judgement free zone for your schedule and life moments if you are unable to move at the same pace as others. Beyond the resources, the way the program is set up with experts viewing your work and giving feedback is amazing. There is more to AIDA than than building a portolio. You are also building your professionalism in the field. The job readiness at the end of the program structure is equally if not even more valuable than the portfolio creation. AIDA helps you practice interviewing, gives you all the resume tips and tricks, helps you get your resume ready and is even there to support you through negotiations. The support you receive through the Facebook group once you are through the program is another valuable piece. I could continue on, but just take my word for it. This is the best learning experience I've ever had and the best decision I've made in a decade. I was a teacher for 16 years. After finishing AIDA, I spent three weeks applying for jobs like crazy. I had 4 interviews within 6 weeks and 2 accepted offers (I had to call one back after the 2nd came though.) One year short of the day I started AIDA, I am now a full time ID working fully remote from home on a flexible schedule and I have DOUBLED my teaching salary. Just go for it. This is a decision you will not regret!

AIDA provides phenomenal step-by-step training to become an instructional designer. It's rigorous, which prepares us for employment, and there is tremendous guidance and encouragement embedded. Mentors and podmates are always available, making AIDA a top-notch learning experience. AIDA members' portfolios exemplify professionalism and prove that AIDA really is the best of the best.

Best decision of my life was to give AIDA a chance. I was taught so much, had a POD group leader that was in my corner 24\7 along with great POD-mates that I still am in contact with today. Any questions or concerns that I had left the moment I had my first group check in with my leader, because it is obvious EVERYONE wants for you to exceed. My current position is part time and I still make more than I did when I worked full time. Plus, it is all remote, so I work from home. If you are considering trying AIDA I highly recommend giving them a chance. But only if you want to change your life.

I joined Applied Instructional Design Academy (AIDA) in 2022 and completed the full program in 2023. AIDA gave me the instructional design/eLearning development skills to build on my previous experience to create a portfolio I am proud of and prepared me well for applying and interviewing for instructional design roles. I landed a full-time instructional design position with confidence and support along the way. It's not a quick and easy program, but intensive and practical, and for me, it was worth it. I love the supportive community of learning in AIDA, and the connections I've made in the program are so valuable.
