AVOID
I was so thrilled when I first discovered the LCWW events…so to be burning this bridge is saying a lot for me. First up- the other vendors and cat owners/breeders are incredibly lovely people. This is a problem with the organisers not the exhibitors. Over the last year I tabled at 5 of their events, and 2 of those I barely made table costs back let alone hotel/travel/stock. They take vendors money, with no curation at all. Ali express resellers, AI apps, they don’t care, they just want the money. Judges for the cat competitions haven’t been paid, and it seems like they just start up in a new country every time people catch on to the scam. (They’re hitting Australia next year). As much as I love seeing all the cats, it’s just not worth it as a vendor, we small creative businesses need to be careful with our time and money! My first inkling of things going wrong was the Manchester June event. With two dates and venue changes it was a mess with very little footfall, and no one even on the door… The next chaos event was Stoneleigh in September with less than 100 tickets sold and a completely empty venue. Then there was the event booked for the NEC in Birmingham event that was moved 80 miles south to an empty agricultural barn in the middle of nowhere with no heating… The final straw was the London event. When booking it back in august, it was set for February 2025 at the London Olympia. Then I noticed that the Olympia part had been removed from their website in some places and that there still hadn’t been any advertising by late December… Most events like this will advertise well in advance (cat show live are already advertising for their September 2025 show!) When I contacted the main vendor contact in the UK, she told me she’d be surprised if the London event was even in London at all! So I requested a refund December 14th which they said would be issued by December 20th, on which date they informed me that operations had moved to Portugal (?!!) and to give them all my bank details etc and address. I immediately did but the refund still hasn’t been actioned…and what’s worse is that they’ve not responded to any emails since. The link to buy tickets for the London event led to an error page as of last weekend and vendors still don’t have an update for the venue. Wait - as of this morning there’s a new venue for London and new dates…it’s now on a Friday and Saturday valentines weekend, meaning hotels will be impossible to book. Oh and vendors still haven’t had an official email about the venue change. There’s only one official LCWW event planned in the UK this year, the others being advertised are now being run by smaller companies made of vendors and judges…something isn’t right. So basically- avoid. It’s a scam, exploiting small businesses and cat lovers.
