We paid nearly $1,000 for what was advertised as an educational tech camp (STEM and Medicine) at SFSU through Lavner Education. Unfortunately, it was nothing close. The Kids watched YouTube and played Roblox instead of learning. My 11-year-old described the camp as “a waste of time.” The program structure as advertised online was not followed at all. It is also advertised as an "educational camp" at a well known college campus in the bay area. We completed the survey and got a call saying a resolution was coming, but then Lavner refused a refund. The site manager was clearly not involved in looking after the children. I am requesting a formal review into their deceptive business practices. This absolutely felt like a deceptive money grab, not a real educational experience. Avoid this camp.

We had our 7 yo daughter enrolled for 1 week in the "STEAM Escape Camp". Lavner has a long page explaining this particular steam escape session and nowhere on the page does it mention that the kids are building their escape room completely in MINECRAFT. Their page is misleading, leading you to think that the projects are hands-on. The page literally said: "Unlock the Power of Hands-on Learning Gain hands-on experience by designing, building, and testing your own escape room. You’ll deepen your understanding of STEAM concepts and put them to the test in real-world projects. You’ll also learn how to use tools and materials to create engaging and challenging puzzles and challenges." but instead my daughter spent hours playing minecraft. Deceptive and not transparent at all. And then in aftercare, the kids are mostly playing games on laptops. One time during pickup the kids were watching what looked like youtube or netflix cartoons on the projector. The classroom had very little space to play and was mostly desks and chairs. This was also the most expensive camp we paid for all summer, so disappointing that we paid to basically have our kid play games and watch videos for a good chunk of the camp.

My child attended two Lavner camps. This was a bad decision. There are a lot of little fees - credit card processing fee, meal fee, annual registration fee, before class and after class extended care fee, before class tutoring fee, after class tutoring fee, etc.. Of course, you have to pay for the actual camp from 9am - 3pm too. This would all be worth it if it was fun and educational. Instead, the Minecraft National Tournament camp is not locked down and allows students to cheat. I can save my money and my child can play a hacked Minecraft game with cheaters for free.

My grandson was hesitant about attending but he loved it and learned some new things for his favorite game Roblox. He said it was the best camp he has ever attended! He wants to do another camp next summer.

Our 7 year old daughter had a wonderful time at Lego Robot camp. She made new friends of all different backgrounds, learned to code her robot, and gained confidence as she took this on in a new place with new people. She is already planning the camps she wants to attend next year!

We wanted a camp that nurtured our child’s tech skills in a social and engaging way—Lavner delivered. It’s more than just coding; it’s about learning in a collaborative environment with real-world relevance. Each year offers a natural progression in courses, keeping our child challenged yet supported. The Lavner team has truly helped build not just technical knowledge, but confidence and curiosity. It’s been a meaningful experience for our whole family.

My son Theo went to 2 different sessions, and loved both. He wants to get there on time to do all of the activities. He wants to stay afterwards to hang out with the other kids. He even wants to have the lunch on campus. We've now done the camp 3 years in a row, and I'm glad he's still asking for it, and having a great time when he goes.

We were just tourists in the USA, and we wanted to attend the Lavner 3D printing and modeling camp at Davidson College this summer. Our daughter was very happy and productive during camp; we hope that we will try another technology camp with Lavner next year.
