I was looking for a beautiful and functional oval diamond steel. I have always owned F.K. Dick steels, ( I have actually owned these 2 steels for 35 years) but the diamond steel was getting so smooth it just didn't have much of a bite. I didn't really like the very utilitarian looking steels that FKD is currently offering, so I started looking around for a high quality steel steel that also looked great. Price was not a concern, I was willing to spend 2 or even 3 times what the Knives Etcetera diamond steel cost. After finding the Knives Etcetera site and looking at the reviews, I took the plunge. I could not be happier with my purchase. The workmanship and quality are outstanding. The fit and finishing of this steel is really outstanding. One caution, if you have never used a diamond steel, you will be very surprised by how much bite the steel has. I only use this steel on knives that while they still have and edge, they need a little tuning up to get back to that razor finish. This steel really does the job. For my blades with clean edges I still use my old F.K. Dick. I do wish they would make this steel in a 12 inch version (its just what I'm used to) but I can not imagine anyone not being delighted with this steel.

I purchased my stone without reading a review or really researching it. Just saw a great price, and went for it. Needless to say I’m quite happy with it! I find the guide that comes with it very helpful, as I can’t keep a true degree by hand no matter how hard I try. It made all the knives in my knife block extremely sharp. What really impressed me was it easily sharpened my cold forged chef’s knife. Stones I’ve used in the past took way more passes and didn’t make my knife nearly as sharp. Very happy customer! Easy order and fast shipping with good protective packaging.

The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars from me is because thelogo is distractingly large. It was a gift for two of my employees and if I knew how large the logo was, I probably wouldn’t have purchased it. That being said, it’s a very well balanced well made knife.

The knives arrived safely. Very well packed. They were a gift for my daughter. The quality is very good. Blades were very sharp. Only quibble is that I wished they were a bit more weight to them.

Received in a timely fashion, exactly as advertised. Need to spend more time sharpening with it, but so far so good!
