Beware--Bait and Switch. Kickfurther will make you a full proposal with terms that are expensive to begin with, and, at the last second once you have spent considerable time setting everything up with vendors, verifying tons of information, the will mention a "platform fee" that is thousands of dollars. Then, when you challenge them on that fee, they will tell you they mentioned it. But they didn't. I don't mis charges for thousands of dollars. I was stuck using them and paying the fee because I had to order inventory, but it was completely dishonest. I've now confirmed with many others that this is a common practice. They will also change your "pre-approved" amount without warning and after much delay with no explanation--even if your business is growing rapidly and has paid them back.

They will definitely waste your time. Their business practices are not transparent on either side of their offerings.

INVESTORS SHOULD STAY AWAY If you're thinking about investing with Kickfurther, don't. While the co-ops seem to have a number of protections such as personal guarantees, UC filings, etc, in practice, none of these are ever used. Kickfurther instead hides behind co-ops failing to meet a vote of "no confidence" by the co-op lenders to take no action against any of the companies that have failed to payback lenders. On it's face, this seems democratic but Kickfurther doesn't take into account lenders abstaining from a vote and since most lenders aren't actively participating on the platform NO VOTE CAN EVER GET OVER 50%. What Kickfurther should do, is look at what percentage of people that voted on an action were in favor or against (aka how any other vote in politics, the boardroom, etc works).

Having been a 3 year investor with Kickfurther I can say with confidence the platform is a joke. While they do have a vetting process for new borrowers, they fail both to discover and to disclose to investors how much debt the borrowing companies already have. This is the major reason so many coops never get paid back - Kickfurther will allow them to borrow hundreds of thousands even after they've tapped out multi million dollar lines of credit with banks, PO financing companies, factors and other types of creditors. If these companies were able to, they'd borrow more from banks and traditional lenders (instead of KF) because the interest rates would be at most 12-13% while kickfurther requires about 18% for your first coop, PLUS they get anywhere from 12k-24k up front from new companies as a fee for joining the platform. But those lenders won't let them borrow more because they know the odds of repayment are very bad. And since those lenders are aggressive in their collection efforts, they get paid first. Kickfurther has little incentive to be aggressive because of that upfront fee - they already got paid before we even invested. It's the investors who bear the lion's share of the losses. I've lost $9,000 on the Kickfurther platform from 9 failed companies. I invested in 15 total, so a 60% fail rate means this is a horrible platform for investors.

I started investing with KF in 2019. I've had a net loss over that time period because deals keep going south and KF doesn't do anything to enforce payment. Some deals work out great. But in my experience as a whole, you are much better off finding something else.

I have seen lots of reviews from the investor community involved with Kickfurther, but mine comes from the brand perspective. The first thing investors should know, which KF is not transparent about, is that KF charges brands an insane monthly fee of $800 which often impacts our ability to make timely payments back to the backers. Additionally, the CPG industry is prone to negative cash flow scenarios like chargebacks, slotting fees, etc, which make services like KF pretty unsuitable for both brands and investors in this space. And perhaps the most irritating part is that many of the investors are obviously not qualified investors who understand any of the aforementioned, and when delays are off-target paybacks happen, they respond with rude and unprofessional harassment to the brand - all of this hot garbage occurring while KF happily takes their pound of flesh while offering little recourse to either the backed brand, or the backers who put money in. Genuinely a bad service for everyone involved.

I invested in Kickfurther after reading the reviews on trustpilot and other sites which now I understand have financial relationships with Kickfurther. All the reviews which are good are from companies which got the money. As an investor, I have had multiple companies not pay back a cent, commit total fraud on investors and Kickfurther did nothing to recover the money since they had already made a profit. This is a genuinely terrible company for people who want to invest. If a co-op fails (and it happens ALL the time) they will do absolutely nothing and laugh their way to the bank. Do not invest in this company.
