First few investments were great; dump some cash, wait a few months, pocket the interest, rinse & repeat.
Except when some Kickfurthers paid zero - nothing - and then the final payment date passes. Your investment cycle is broken, your cash in limbo for who knows how long (if you're even getting it back).
There are mechanisms for Kickfurther to cancel co-ops and obtain merchandise (if the merchant responds). There are mechanisms to settle for lower repayments (if the investors agree).
There are also many many many ways a company that took a loan from Kickfurther can effectively ignore them while still raking in sales. Kickfurther doesn't send debt collectors, file lawsuits, seize collateral. The burden falls onto you, the investor, to sit it out and plead for the company to repay.

Deeply unethical company - Stay Away
Deeply unethical company.
They spam your email, try to sell you their product, then lie about how much funding your business is eligible for.
Their customer service is terrible from my experience. I've been blatantly ignored with my concerns except when I was cold pitched I was called immediately after I had asked for a phone call.
We were testing the waters, funding wasn't necessary nor are we desperate. Business is fine for us, but now we know if we need it, we shouldn't deal with them.

Hi Mike,
We're sorry we weren't able to work together this time. Any activities you felt were unethical will be investigated if you share with help [at] kickfurther. We are proud that our costs and process are transparent, exactly because we don't want entrepreneurs to feel there's a bait and switch. We're sorry you had an experience that fell short of this expectation.

Complete rip-off
Complete rip-off, possibly fraud? Fortunately, I only invested some 'play money' to check this out before investing further and thank goodness I did. Over half of my co-ops did not pay back in full, even months after due date, and multiple have literally paid back $0.00 yes, *ZERO* dollars on combined loans of over $350,000. I get there will always be some risk, but I can do better than 50% payback making loans to my drunk uncle. Months go by and all KF does is post some lame a** updates like "Our internal collection team will continue to try to make contact with the business owner." (that is verbatim from KF) Collection efforts are for s***, good luck trying to actually speak with a person there, "updates" do nothing but delay and give false hope.
I have pulled out what little money I had remaining there and written off the rest.
This is not some random rant - I have over 10 KF co-ops, these are my actual results over the past 12 months.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Hi Joe,
We're sorry this was your experience. All brands are vetted across a number of financial, business and supply chain metrics. We're limited on what we can share about specific Co-Ops outside of the platform, but can be reached at contact @ kickfurther if you'd like to discuss.

Exploitative Fees and Predatory Lending by KickFurther
Kickfurther is the equivalence of prioritizing company policy above the customer needs with failures of flexibility and reluctance to respond. When leads don't convert your paying clients move their business to a competitor.
However, management is not Kickfurther's top reason to be cautious, increasingly charging inflated and back-end fees to businesses is how KF makes money. Completing Later than Estimated Co-Ops or even missing payment on partial Months after the Completion Date by a single cent or by a single hr/day?, KF in relation to our contract would gouge your business by over 2.20% in late fees — in our second contract KF tried to pull an over $5k late fees clause. We were advised to decline and move our business elsewhere, our lawyer were in complete awe: I 'll give you a scenario, if we were to ever be late by a fraction of a dollar other additional fees would apply.
If KF now target businesses who have limited alternative options you should seek other capital alt. Firstly, KF contract termination clauses will leave your business on the hook for those out-of-control fees. Read your contract before signing, this new “fee economy” will make you a target for predatory lenders and brokers, prime lenders who engage in unethical predatory lending practices based on excessive rates and fees are often charging other back-end services. In our case, we were paying $1,200.00 monthly subscription from a previous contract, this should have been our first red flag. KF is lacking clear service strategy or adoption of industry best practices. Even though in the beginning the on-boarding process was great, we paid everything on time on the first Co-Op and even paid a fraction of the leftover loan in a lump-sum payment, 2 months earlier.
A scrupulous person is full of scruples, watch your salesperson and the way disingenuous sales reps serve your Co-Op on KF, they're not all meticulous but it did feel that way. READ YOUR CONTRACTS BEFORE SIGNING and please beware the original Kickfurther model is really good for businesses but not this, remember a court will never enforce a contract promoting something already against state or federal law, if you feel harassed by these contracts go somewhere else. We have way better options than this and were hoping to do business with KF for a long-time but we cannot support this predatory pricing.

Herchel,
We, too, hope to do business with you for a long time. If you'd like to, we'd love to discuss what may have happened and see what solutions exist.

Basically a scam
This company basically allows scammers to take your money and then does nothing about it. AVOID at all costs.
Update based on the reply from Kickfurther:
You've been ignoring my concerns, and the concerns of a lot of other investors who invested good money in the scams on your platform for years. I still have multiple projects for which I haven't seen a single penny of my money back. It's a special kind of rich to reply to this review to tell me you'll hear my concerns.
Response from KickfurtherJan 31, 2023
Hi Ben. That's certainly not our model or intended outcome. If you'd like to, you can connect with an internal liason via [email protected] and we'd be eager to hear your concerns.
Update based on Ben's update:
As said above, the outcome you're describing is not something we'd ever ask anyone to consider "good" and we would also leave a review like this if that had been our experience. However, the offer stands to hear your concerns and suggestions so that, where possible, we can improve Kickfurther to support our great community of participants.

If you're a prospective investor on Kickfurther do NOT Invest...
You'll notice that nearly all the positive reviews on Kickfurther are from companies that raised money through them. Why?
Because the experience as an investor on Kickfurther is horrendous with a high percentage of co-ops losing money for investors.
AND... while Kickfurther actively solicits Trust Pilot reviews from companies that raise money on their platform not only do they *not* solicit them from the investors, if an investor posts a chat message on their platform encouraging investors to review here on Trust Pilot, then Kickfurther deletes that message and bans that investor from being able to chat on their platform with other investors.
Trust Pilot... you need to investigate this as your rating of them is *not* accurate because of their active effort to manipulate it and silence the investors on their platform.

I would never invest on Kickfurther again and you shouldn't either
As an investor on kickfurther not only is their communication and support of investors horrendous. But they also police their investor discussion groups and block anything that calls out Kickfurther's inadequate procedures and communications. I was banned from communicating in the Kickfurther investor discussions simply for suggesting that investors should come here to rate Kickfurther!
And, on top of that, way too many of the co-ops lose money and they seem to like to cover up that fact.

This is a scam and you are very likely…
This is a scam and you are very likely to lose money. They do not verify their “investments” or go after them in the collections process.

Hi Meg, we're sorry to hear about this experience. All of the companies that use Kickfurther to access funding must meet a number of qualification criteria and a number of provisions exist should something disrupt a company's intended payback timeline.
