INITIAL REVIEW: I had high hopes when I signed up with Kibo Pay. The sales process was smooth and well-handled, and I want to acknowledge that Maria was excellent in that role — I’d hire her as a salesperson without hesitation. Unfortunately, once I began using the platform, the experience took a sharp turn for the worse. Every single client charge I attempted was declined — except for one. That one charge — for $1,033 on May 20, 2025 — went through, but I never received the funds. The account now shows it a refund “settled” (as of June 9), but my client has not received their money either. I’ve now spent over a month trying to get clarity, documentation, or resolution — with no success. Communication has been inconsistent, timelines have been vague, and no one has explained why the funds I worked for were withheld. I initially switched to Kibo Pay thinking I’d save money by charging the 3% processing fee to clients instead of absorbing it myself. In hindsight, I should have just added the 3% to my pricing and stayed with my original merchant provider — because this “savings” has cost me countless hours, unpaid labor, and serious stress. At this point, Kibo Pay is holding funds with no valid explanation, and I’ve had no choice but to advise my client to file a chargeback and begin submitting formal complaints. Bottom line: this has been a waste of time and energy. A strong sales experience does not make up for a platform that fails to deliver the most basic function of merchant services — getting paid. UPDATE: My client had the refund since June 13, but didn't see it until I got the confirmation proof from Kibo pay last week. So overall there was error on my end because my client didn't see the refund, but they still didn't give me the proper documentation to show him until 7/3/25, so had I had it sooner, this issue would have been avoided - not to mention, I shouldn't have needed a refund to begin with because his charge should have just gone through to me upon submission. Overall I still don't recommend based on the merchant service companies they work with Fluid Pay and Merchant Lynx but at least they didn't steal my money like I thought.

We signed up for a new merchant services account in February based on a mailed offer from KiboPay. Our experience using that account since has been mixed. Most of the difficulties are not due to KiboPay itself but the processor (Merchant Lynx) the account is closely tied to. The advantages of KiboPay's offer was a merchant account charging ONLY a fixed percentage fee as un upcharge. That is, if we charge and receive $100.00, the customer is charged $103.75, 3.75% more. There was to be NO monthly, service, PCI or any of the hundreds of other fees used to bleed us dry presented by other processors. And we are able to process transactions thru an online gateway. This much fit our needs nicely. But downsides quickly made themselves known. KiboPay helped us get it working thru Merchant Lynx, but the latter was difficult to work with. One major problem is that there are very small variations in what we charge versus what is actually deposited in our account. Those variances may only be 1-cent, but it costs far more to correct a 1-cent variance in labor. The root cause is the backwards way the amount actually deposited to our account is calculated. Merchant Lynx appears to be a series of missile silos, none of whom talk to one another. And included in those isolated silos is yet another organization that actually does the processing. So investigating how things work on this system is initially a frustrating series of calls just trying to find who can address an issue. This was especially true as we pursued the process of becoming PCI compliant. Merchant Lynx needed clearance from a separate organization to initiate the process, but that separate organization required Merchant Lynx to provide the basic info regarding our account to begin. And that took the two a month to resolve. There is NO documentation for the online portal used to process transactions. You're on your own, or you're on the phone. Merchant Lynx prints terms on our monthly statement, including major fee increases, that KiboPay assured us do not in any way apply to our account. So why are they on our statement? In sum, it is a good system for us which many aspects of the related processor detracts from. Once we went thru the learning curve, and did some programming to compensate for their convoluted math, it is a workable system.
