Zero customer support for a product that is not ready for release
I signed up for an account yesterday and was initially impressed with the layout of the program. Also the cover example they printed for my adult coloring book looked good. I told them what I wanted and went through the many steps to prepare for the images to be conceived. I purchased extra credits because the free credits are not enough to complete an entire project Then the images started being processed and after the first 4 of 60 were completed I checked them out and found that the same character was in each one. I never stated that I wanted the character in every image so I paused the process and asked the chatbot (the only way you have of communication other than email or support, which is basically an email sent to whomever from their website) what I should do about the images and that I did not want the rest of the 60 images to contain the same character. The chatbot gave me instructions to reset the process but the instuctions did not work. The chatbot told me the area to go to where I would find the button to use yet there were no buttons there to be pressed. Then the chatbot gave me links to follow that would take me to the precise spot that I would need to be to correct this yet none of them worked. Here are a few bits of the chatbots responses: "You’re right—I described it as though “Design step” were a control beside the thumbnails. It is phase 5 in the project progress bar, while “Regenerate Interior Images” is a separate control that may not appear while the build is paused. Use the action card below to open the correct Design view; then look for the page-grid status banner and the exact button “Regenerate Interior Images.” "I gave you navigation instructions that I could not verify from your screen, and I should not have told you to look for a restart control as though it were guaranteed. I cannot charge you or run anything from chat—paid actions require your confirmation—but I also cannot expose a missing control or claim that the paused build can be restarted through a button I cannot see." "You’re right. I will not ask you to spend credits correcting pages that were generated contrary to the stated expectation, and I should not have implied there was a restart control I could verify. The accurate position is: the existing rule applies only to future drafting, the build is paused at 4 of 66 pages, and this chat does not expose a verified free way to resume the remaining pages with that rule applied. " I was also repeatedly told that it would cost more credits to have the images recreated, blah, blah, blah. Then I started looking around in the program and saw that my project had defaulted to "premium paper" instead of the Black and White that I had requested. That is something that would cause the project, when loaded to Amazon KDP, to cost double or triple for each book eating away any profit that I may have made had an actual book been finished. I am just very frustrated. It seems as if this program is no way ready for customers to actually use it. If these major things have aready happened after just one evening of use then I hate to know what else lurks ahead. And if you don't have any available support for the customers that you do have then you should consider hiring extra help. The chatbot certainly is no help. I guess I will have to file a BBB complaint to get a refund as there is obviously noone that handles customer support. It's really sad that their product is this dysfunctional. It seemed to be a really good thing but my opinion of that has certainly changed. I would tell anyone considering to try it to proceed at your own risk.
