Rooftop Potty is the Real Sh*tter
The idea of having a rooftop potty station that virtually self-cleans and is accessible, convenient and easy to put together is a dream. This is not the place to get it. I purchased a "Next Generation” Quick and Clean Potty Station from K9/Cove May 25th of 2025. The only thing next-generation about this product is the fact that it is now the next year after I bought it and it's still not assembled. As a busy doctoral student I had a family member contact K9 Kennels to receive the instructions that were not initially included in the box with the purchase upon delivery. Strike one: how do you sell a product and not include instructions for assembly inside of the box?? No worries, we'll reach out. They'll send a PDF or a video or reply via email with the instructions for us to put the thing together my dog will finally be able to use it, right? Wrong. We spent a total of 5 or 6 months emailing customer service back and forth trying to obtain the directions to the proper model of the potty station. It appears that whoever is working customer service and product help does not realize that there are several models of the potty stations. The next-generation version as advertised is supposed to attach to a water source and also has an included two way pumps to separate the waste and dispense clean water for rinsing the station at the same time. The potty attendant that came with it had all the necessary parts, with zero instructions on where to put tubing and nozzles. And so it sat, unassembled. Finally about two months ago (this would be August of 2026, well over a year after my $600+ purchase), instructions to assemble the potty station suddenly appear on the internet. But this is not the product I ordered. The new “Pro Station” is the upgraded version of the one that I purchased last year that is now conveniently no longer available on the website. It's almost like they realized that it's impossible to put this thing together or that it's assembled horrendously. They pulled the product off the market only to scramble and make a new, upgraded, and improved version and then throw everybody else who bought the previous version in the mud. As a problem solver, I ask, “How different can the new model be?” Let's try to assemble the old version using the new instructions. Strike Two. This new pro version is completely different from the “upgraded version” that I supposedly purchased. There is a completely different base, a plastic one, whereas I have a now-rusted and rickety metal one. K9 Kennels is well aware of the fact that we have been experiencing issues with the assembly and not once did they offer a refund or compensation, a way to reach out, or an upgrade to the so-called pro model (that is the now better and upgraded version of the one that I spent money on). Strike Three. Assembly. After I finally found the blasted instructions, low and behold, it’s a piece of sh*t, as I suspected. The wheel casters do not properly fit into the holes. It also comes with the “splash guard,” (necessary since I have a male dog who prefers to lift his leg and mark) which are basically plastic boards you place around the perimeter of the potty base. The screws provided, are WAY too short. They do not go all the way through the metal base and the thick plastic board. It is damn near impossible to put the nuts on the end to hold it in place. Not to mention, the actual horrendous assembly of the products. The drill holes on the plastic boards are about 1/4 in. off-center and unfortunately, a 1/4 in. makes a hell of a difference. I have somehow managed to screw some of them in after much effort. Good luck to my future self attempting to make the rest of this happen. And good luck to anyone hoping to purchase anything of value or quality from this “company.” Product? Trash. Assembly? Impossible. Customer Service? nonexistent. Purchase elsewhere.
