Hannah, David, and Erin all made the whole process of applying for a mortgage and closing escrow incredibly smooth. From the moment I started exploring options for buying a new house before selling my current one, Hannah was extremely communicative and clearly laid out my options. As we were considering houses at different price points, the team was able to quickly run numbers and provide us with breakdowns and updated preapproval letters, usually within just a few hours. The escrow process went smoothly and JVM did a great job of not asking for the same documents repeatedly, which I know can be an issue with other lenders. The only negative is that all the options for erasing the debt from our current mortgage to allow us to qualify for the new one were not clearly laid out at the beginning. This is partially our fault for not inquiring more about it, but I do wish JVM had a standard information sheet about the different ways this can be done that could be shared at the beginning of the whole process. In the end, David and Erin still worked meticulously to help us explore the different options while we were in escrow, and helped give us the breathing room we needed to adequately prepare and sell our house. Despite this hiccup, the JVM team was still able to close our escrow on time. I appreciate how responsive everyone is, even on weekends. In the Bay Area, the housing market can move quickly, and JVM’s quick response times and diligence allow you to keep up. This is my second time using JVM, and I would not hesitate to use them a third time.
