Attended a leadership conference where I was pleasantly surprised by Jody Michael, one of the keynote speakers. While initially hesitant – it was the most engaging 3 hour talk I’ve ever listened to. Honestly, I didn’t expect to really walk away with any new information about effective leadership but after working through her exercises on accountability, I was absolutely blown away by identifying a major personal blind spot I never knew I had. My eyes have been opened and I’ve got some work to do. Thanks Jody, our paths will cross again.

I am thrilled with my new resume! The last resume I had was 11 years old and listed the boring tasks of my various jobs. Paula created a masterpiece CV that highlighted my accomplishments without emphasizing that I had been out of school for many, many years. I really cannot adequately express how grateful and excited I am to have this wonderful new CV. Paula is super smart, understood exactly where to go with my CV and was very patient and kind. I will recommend her to all who are looking to update their resume. I'm thrilled!

I came to Jody Michael for a mock interview session, as I had been interviewing for the past year with no success. The mock interview session was an intense but enlightening experience. I used the advice provided in my next job interviews, and was able to land a new role that was better for both my career and my family. More importantly, however, was the fact that the mock interview session highlighted areas in my background and skillset that needed more work, and I am now motivated more than ever to improve those areas. I would highly recommend Jody Michael and the mock interview session to anyone looking not just to find a better job, but to anyone looking to ultimately better their career.

I worked with Paula on revising my CV and my LinkedIn profile. She was outstanding to work with, very thorough and helpful - the questionnaires made me really evaluate my talents and my overall goals as a public relations professional and new entrepreneur.

For every reason under the sun, I didn’t think this course would work for me. The financial investment was a huge sacrifice, and I feared walking in to merely hear, “You need to network more.” I expected to be given unhelpful worksheets about “What Kind of Worker I Am,” or just pay for a database of names to cold call. I didn’t expect anyone to understand the specific challenges from my very niche industry, or understand the challenges in finding a way to transition out of that industry and into a career I would love. Essentially, I wanted someone to help me navigate what I thought would be a huge career move, with few tools at my disposal, and I didn’t think any counselor was up to the task. Within a few short minutes of speaking to her on the phone; however, I was completely sold on Maura, my prospective counselor. She pinpointed—with terrifying accuracy—the source of the ruts I had created in my job and the toxic ways I was thinking about work and myself as a worker. I quickly realized that she was more invested in a whole life plan for me, rather than a short term fix of just moving on to something new. After completing just a few sessions, I now have a much better understanding of what I need to look for to make myself feel more accomplished and fulfilled. Finding a better career doesn’t involve the dramatic leap I expected, just a little tailoring, and I’m so thankful that I had an objective third party help me reach that conclusion. Despite being unsatisfied in my current position, I now know the underlying reasons WHY it isn’t working for me, and I have the language and tools to articulate what I need in the future. I am working on and have many more solid steps in place, and I feel more confident than ever about where I can go and what I can do from here. The process has really helped me become capable of knowing and helping myself in ways I hadn’t expected. Although I do think this process would have been very different had I been matched with another counselor, I believe their personalized assessments and holistic approach makes Jody Michael a very wise investment.
