Terrible customer support that just automatically closes tickets without responding. AI responses that don't actually look into issues

After years of playing they decide out of nowhere to ban me and take wealth of my account. Send an Mail 4 days ago. Still no answer or any mail back. Be carefull before you guys waste hours and months of gameplay

This is by far the worst customer support of any game I've played. They can never help you unless it's about money. For a game that's losing players you would think they'd be more cautious and professional with the few players they have left, but no. Jagex engages in censorship of negative critique, they don't want you to know how bad the game has become. There's plenty of old and outdated content in the game. The monthly subscription fee ain't worth it for this trainwreck of a game, money is better spent on modern games or on old classics.

A Veteran’s Warning: Deceptive Practices, Shrinking Player Base, and Predatory Support As a long-time veteran of RuneScape, I feel compelled to warn potential and returning players about the systemic decline of Jagex’s business ethics and game quality. What was once a legendary MMORPG has degenerated into an ecosystem that actively exploits player loyalty and relies on deceptive practices. 1. Storefront Deception & Hostile Support Jagex engages in misleading point-of-sale advertising, using hidden restrictions to withhold advertised benefits from paying customers. If you challenge them, their automated customer support system traps you in a repetitive AI loop. Once you finally reach a human, their strategy shifts to intimidation—using corporate jargon to convince you that legal recourse is hopeless or requires an attorney. Do not fall for this trap. If you have been scammed by their storefront, bypass their support entirely and file a report with your local consumer protection and regulatory watchdogs. You have rights, and Jagex is bound by law to honor them. 2. Artificially Inflated Metrics & Desperate PR Do not be fooled by the official player numbers; they are heavily overinflated. Fifteen years ago, RuneScape’s world servers were teeming with life. Today, despite Jagex's claims of a thriving population, the game is riddled with ghost towns and completely dead minigames. This population crisis explains their desperate shift to alternative platforms like Steam and mobile, as well as highly curated PR campaigns designed to fabricate a false narrative of growth. 3. Sunk-Cost Exploitation & Censorship Jagex intentionally weaponizes the "sunk-cost fallacy" against its veteran community. They know that the more years you have invested in an account, the more compliant you will be regarding predatory monetization and rising subscription fees. To maintain this illusion of success, the company heavily moderates and silences criticism on platforms under its direct control. It is only on unbiased, independent review sites that you see the true, unfiltered reality of RuneScape's decline. The Verdict: With an unpolished game engine, a mountain of abandoned, outdated content, and a recent history of predatory, gambling-like mechanics, RuneScape 3 simply cannot compete with modern industry giants like World of Warcraft. Despite costing more than ever, it offers vastly less value. Your time and money are better spent elsewhere.

Hadn’t played in 6 years, decided to return to RuneScape, been playing old school since I was kid, and moment new RuneScape came out, I made an account in 2013 and played that a bunch too. When I returned my character had a permanent ban on it for cheating, which i had never done, I put in a appeal and they said, that yep it had been hacked but because the ban had been in place for 6 years my characters data had all been deleted, so I’ll just have to make a new character. So I just loose all that progression, all the hours I put in, everything, because you have bad security, and not even, hey sorry here a month of membership or something cause this was our fault, just go make a new character, we can’t promise this won’t happen again sorry. Additionally I had two step authentication on and verification email code when the hack occurred, so the hack is on them, as I had all the steps in place to prevent it from happening on my end.

Company doesnt just allow scams and theft. They actually endorse it, they wont remove gangs of scammers. And say all account responsibility is yours. If i am paying for a service I demand they offer a form of customer protection

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. if you have an issue, you are just screwed. It is INSANE. I cant think of one single other company who just refuse to give a shit about the players. Customer service is the bare minimum you should offer.
