I would want to be more positive as I am with most of my reviews, but this app is the WORST! I am a 6th grade student who tried to give it a chance as my teacher assigns a lot of IXLs. But this app makes my head hurt so much! I don’t usually cry, but IXL is the first app to ever make me cry. The diagnostic is horrible and the smart score is equally as horrible. In their website, their mission is to “ apply technology in thoughtful and innovative ways to unlock learners' innate curiosity, creativity, and desire for knowledge” but this only unlocks a hatred for school. The dreadful feeling when you wake up and realize you have 50 IXLs to do is horrible. Worst app ever, definitely NOT recommend.

The diagnostic is severely flawed. There are all these different categories, but no limit on grade. Let’s say you’re in 3rd grade, and for some reason the app keeps giving you 7-8 grade questions for fractions. Whether you get it wrong or tell them you don’t know it, it has the SAME RESULT. That student will now be expected to be bad at fractions, when they may be amazing at them! Don’t get this wrong, it’s bullshit. There have been times where I would put 00 instead of 0/1 instead of 1.0 and it says I GOT IT WRONG?! It makes no sense. The app doesn’t help people with disabilities either, and while I don’t have one myself, I have friends who do and they constantly complain on how hard it is for them to do IXL. I’ve been hearing it’s been being banned in places, but it’s still here in my school, and it’s still bullshit.

Think of rain. Think of its reason, to water plants and give life to the earth. Now think of bees and butterflies. Think of their reason, to pollinate flowers and food. Now think of IXL. Think of it's reason, to teach you? No... I learn more from watching paint dry... torture you? Yep, found it, its to torture you. I loathe this website more than anything I've witnessed in my life. I am starting a protest against IXL so I don't have to cry when my score goes up 20 in 4 hours. FOUR HOURS. Really IXL?! going up 10 is like going up 1, just to be clear, you cant go up by 1s. In conclusion, I HATE IXL! IT DESERVES THIS 1 STAR RATING!

IXL,It actually makes me wonder why they thought it was a good idea to make it. I wish 50000 lightning strikes apon it. All of the 5 starters are either 1. Is giving 5 stars to say it’s great torture. Or 2. Getting paid by IXL to do it. Soooo yeah it sucks garbage

I would never let me kids use this app as a student who struggles with this app. Teachers use this app and it tanks your grade because of the smart score system which is too penalizing. It leads to depression and hopelessness. 0/10 would never let my students use such a horrible app. This should be classified as kid torture.

I hate when IXL takes points off. I even had to do a skill for 2 hours, with 238 questions answered it gives me anxiety 100% NOT RECOMENDED !!!!!!!
