in the 7th grade and my teacher make me use ixl. Well the smart score make me feel dumb when I get a question wrong. And being time makes me fell bad that it takes me long to answer a question. As I am writing this I just did an ixl and most of the questions we did not learn in our lesson.

If you value your kid's/students' confidence in academics, do not use IXL. I'm in 10th grade now, and I had to use it all throughout elementary and middle school. It did not inspire me to learn, nor did it improve my school performance. What I and many other kids learned from this was that we don't get to make mistakes or be wrong, because that's not "progress". We have to be perfect at everything immediately. I learned that the very adults I trusted and felt vulnerable around wanted me to push myself to tears. No child should use this, it will only diminish their confidence in their own brain and force them into the mindset that mistakes are unacceptable and they should strive for perfection over practice and learning.

ixl is really bad because it does not tell a formula about the qustion,and you can go to a lower level of you and it just teaches the bad way of the teachers

As a 9th grader I HATE IXL! it gives children stress and I got so angry that I punched my laptop! Don't let your child use this app!!! When I explained to my teacher she gave me detention! I hate IXL!

As a student, we greatly dislike IXL. The SmartScore is unfair, it's constantly shoved down our pie-holes, and teachers seem to have 0 problem with it. They basically use it for whenever you finish a test, make us do it for 25 minutes at the end of the day, and it really strains the eyes because of how much we use the computer. Even my dad hates, saying that teachers don't teach anymore. If your school is planning on using IXL, try to get them not to; it will a new nightmare if they do

As someone who uses it at school, it makes me feel WORTHLESS. I have ASD and IXL gives 1-2 points when you get a question right, but when you get it wrong it’s 10-15! It makes me so anxious and overstimulated. I have started crying because of IXL and nobody understands it not okay! Other students in my class have to, but the teachers make us do it! Parents! Teachers! Please! Don’t make students use this website! It makes us feel like we aren’t worth anything!
