Ok so first of all ixl is a very good idea for a learning website/app but it’s very bad teachers love it they get all the information all the analytics everything but on the student side it’s horrible first of all it doesn’t check what you know it give you a (smart score) the smart score which we’ll will call ss it really messed up you can be doing questions lalala get one wrong oh your ss went down 1 or two points oh well I’m only at 10 ss not a big deal but the problem is when you get higher you see you can be getting more and more questions correct good for you but get one wrong at 90 ss down bang a few dozen points down now you are also a bit stressed now so get another one wrong and another the stress is just building up more and more and the ss just keeps going down this is why people get so mad at ixl some even me get so mad and get so close to just breaking the chrome book just to get out of it then the student gets blamed gets punished gets fined meanwhile ixl in just there nothing happens to the learning platform that caused and the name smart score makes you feel like your stupid if it’s low more stress and I also love learning I like to do math I like the write a essay well maybe not that far lol but seriously this platform is a issue a problem it actually make me want to stop learning altogether I would rather look at a wall for a week straight if it would mean I’d never have to use ixl again sure I’d personally use it alone if I was trying to learn something but it really sucks also at explaining what you did wrong if you got the question wrong the explanations are terrible and so confusing sometimes too I’m 13 years old I personally hate this and many many people will agree with me that this app deserves to be taken down I see so many kids lose it at ixl in my classroom yelling banging on the desk and the teacher can my do much they school signed the contract everyone is stuck with it I had a teacher last year in 7th grade she assigned so many ixl we got yelled at for not getting them done she assigned them as graded lessons every weeks like 5 a week we had to do them at home if we didn’t get them done we had to bring our food to a classroom to do ixl we have and still have a thing called icu time at the end of the day and we have to do all the ixl at the end of the day also now with icu I really don’t got many problems with it but the amount of ixl due is generally horrible this problem needs to be solved and addressed more Signed by a 13 year old kid by the way

this is a horrible website makes kid mad sad and suicidal and is a horrible thing to use. Dont let your kid use this.

Absolutely horrible for learning - If i could rate it less i would

You have prolly been reading reviews from parents, or teachers. But from a actual student who has been using this app for years it IS THE WORST. Why? Well theres this GENIUS thing that its always had that whatever skill youre working on there will be a number line of a sort which you have to reach to 100(%) which for most teachers ive had its been 100 or 80%. And you start at 0. Well, as you start answering questions correct the line ( percentage )also goes higher. BUT as you start going higher the questions get harder too. And you know THE WORST PART?? You get ONE question wrong and you go back down a lot longer than you came up. Like for example lets say ive worked really good so far this math skill that took FOREVER to get up to a 78% lets say. ONE MORE question to get to the teachers goal mind you. YOU GOT IT WRONG? IT TAKES YOU TO A 62 IF NOT A 59 PERCENT. ITS ALWAYS 1 STEP FORWARD 3 STEPS BACK HUH IXL??? Sorry i had to let that out it was a real example but thats how it works and thats what all the other reviewers are probably compalaining about too. Trust me the only good thing this stupid website has it A LOT OF SKILLS. But please do your kids a favor and dont get the app- just- just don’t. IXL has made us all stressed kids im telling you. And teachers they go crazy with it too making us do one every day. Fym.

stress. this bull crap of a website is causing me to much stress and its repetive features, specifically the stupid smartscore WHY does it go down when you get a question wrong?? if i could give 0 stars I would, so parents do NOT allow your kid to use this website if you dont want your kid to stres

This does not help kids learn at all. It just says if a question is right or wrong. If you go above your grade level by accident the assessment becomes very difficult. During "Skills" (they are just lessons) when you get a correct answer, the "SmartScore" goes up by 10 I'd say. If you get a wrong answer, it goes down by like 20. I'm so glad my school let's me get out of IXL if you get a high enough score. I am one of the lucky three that did.

The scoring doesn't make sense, if I get a question right it goes up 4, but if I get it wrong it goes down 12, it happens all the time. This app should be banned for everybody.

I freicking hate ixl it is so garbage because 4 to the power of 2 is 8
