I used it a while ago. I would spend HOURS on IXL trying to reach just a score of 90, staying up way past my time I usually go to sleep, usually heavily fatigued, making my work even more sloppy. Mistakes in IXL can lower points astronomically, even basic mistakes anyone could make. It treat's forgetting a number the same as writing gibberish, actually, it punishes forgetting a number and forgives writing gibberish, ITS INSANE. Do not use if you want sanity.

Ixl is very bad for mental health. it deprives sleep, increases stress, and punishes you for getting it wrong. I was at 99 and got it wrong by not capitalizing and it went to 86. I was at 56 and didn't put a 0 at end of decimal and went to 43. Sucks

This website is horrible! I'm talking about like the worst way to learn possible. ALL THIS SITE DOES IS GIVE YOU QUESTIONS AND EXPECT US TO KNOW WHAT IT IS RIGHT AWAY!! BUT I GET A QUESTION WRONG AND MY POINTS HAVE BEEN DOWN BY 40 POINTS ALL BECAUSE I GOT AN ANSWER WRONG AND THEY EXPECT US TO JUST DEAL WITH IT??? I SWEAR WHOEVER MADE THIS WEBSITE DESERVED TO BE CLOWNED ON FOR THE REST OF THEIR PATHETIC LIFE!!!

I wrote my last review on this terrible god awful website but now I'm in 8th grade so it's time to make another review. Firstly, this app is looping the scores I would only have to get to 80 but I would watch in horror as my 79 drops to 50 and makes me loop to the point old questions start coming up. It says it "builds confidence," but what it's actually building is my anxiety and depression. To that one person who says that "The one star reviews are from the children who are bad at math," I'm in accelerated math and one time I was in double accelerated, but I stopped due to my depression and anxiety problems. Carving words into myself is not all that happened. One time I remember that I got so stressed I got hives from scratching myself out of pure stress. There were also a lot of incidents of me crying because of the amount of stress I gained from that website. Overall, this website might as well have made me worse at math (I'm not going into full detail bc im worried this review will be removed) and teachers really shouldn't use it.

Whoever made this should be tried for crimes against humanity. It makes me want to bash my head into the computer. For the love of god please never punish your eyes with seeing and using this platform.

Imagine sitting at your desk, working on a math problem. You spend three whole minutes solving it. You click submit. Boom. Your SmartScore drops from 89 to 74 because of one tiny typo. All your hard work vanishes in a second. This is the daily torture known as IXL. While teachers think it is a helpful learning tool, IXL is actually the worst thing ever created in the universe. It destroys a student's confidence, rewards perfection instead of progress, and turns learning into a stressful nightmare.First of all, IXL’s scoring system is completely unfair and cruel. In real life, people learn from their mistakes. But on IXL, making a mistake feels like a crime. The "SmartScore" does not measure how smart you are; it measures how lucky you are not to make a typo. If you get a question wrong, the system punishes you by stealing your points. It drags you backwards. This makes students want to give up. Instead of feeling proud of the 20 questions they got right, they feel like failures because of the two they got wrong. It is a system built on punishment, not encouragement.Secondly, IXL causes extreme stress and anxiety. School should be a safe place to try, fail, and grow. Instead, IXL turns homework into a high-stakes horror movie. The closer you get to the goal of 100, the scarier it gets. Many students cry, slam their laptops, or experience intense panic because they are stuck in the "Challenge Zone" for hours. No educational tool should make kids feel miserable or dread learning. It turns curious students into stressed-out robots who only care about a number on a screen. Some teachers argue that IXL gives good practice and helps students master skills. They say that repetition helps things stick in your brain. However, there is a big difference between practicing and doing mindless, endless chores. IXL does not actually teach you the concept when you get it wrong. It just gives you a giant wall of text to read, which is confusing when you are already frustrated. Real mastery comes from a teacher explaining a problem in a new way, not from a computer program yelling "Incorrect!" over and over again. In conclusion, IXL is a black hole of happiness that needs to be stopped. It crushes a student’s spirit with its brutal scoring system and turns learning into pure stress. Education should be about sparking curiosity and helping kids grow, not forcing them to chase an impossible score. For the sake of students' mental health everywhere, schools need to delete IXL forever and bring back better ways to learn.

Imagine when your about to do it then you did a question wrong then you lose points and your so stresed you want to stop.
