The 4 star review is for Tamia only, who attempted to rectify my terrible experience, for which this review is supposed to be for. I would rate the overall service as a 1, because there is no 0. Please do not let them tell you "you can get out after 3 dates". I am not happy with the amount of effort I have to put in to get a date/rescheduled date. There appears to be a high no show rate. I definitely wish I never purchased these services.

If I could rate zero I would. I joined in early July and I’m yet to go on a date. There’s always an excuse ie: we are working on a potential match”, “your selection is unavailable”last time I heard from them was a month ago. I deeply regret investing my money in this scam of a company. Please do not throw away your money on this shady site! It’s awful and they are liars! Helen

This is the worst most scammy company ever. They made a million promises and then apparently kept all out of contract. Only guarantee match of religion, age and child goals. I have asked for a partial refund dozens of times as they are not keeping up any promises. DO NOT USE.

Don’t do it - this company is the biggest scam for dating services that has ever existed, please learn from my error so you don’t waste your time and money like I have. I signed up more than three months ago, which cost me a boat load of money, I’ve yet to to receive a match and I’ve only dealt with hostile and rude ‘matchmakers’. The contract is poorly written, their services are nothing like outlined on their website. The location that they told me they provided services from, which is listed on their site, is not in the contract. When you have issues, they don’t ever have anyone contact you who has any authority, they just tell you that you’re account is placed on hold so they can let the clock run out on your contract. I can’t stress strongly enough to not spend your money or waste your time. Six months later - still no date, the first date I tried to set up, I told the matchmaker I was unavailable and she confirmed she'd reschedule, but then never told my match, poor guy showed up and I wasn't there because he wasn't told that I needed to reschedule. Still no matches...just completely laughable at this point. Update April 2023 - still no dates, still no contact from management. This really is a scam!

TO PROVE HOW MUCH THEY CARE I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN A RESOLUTION. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Save your money. They will not listen to your requirements for what you are looking for and then when you complain they will tell you your membership has expired. This is a completely fraudulent company.

This company has deceptive sales practices, and is unethical and aggressive. The saleswoman assured me that IJL would have matches for me of a similar education level (graduate school) and income level. When I realized that wasn't true, IJL had a saleswoman from its sister company, Elite Private Search (EPS), call me. That saleswoman told me many lies and convinced me to pay $35,000 to meet men who were better matches for me. One of the lies was that I could get a "full refund" for any dates I chose not to go on, and she repeatedly called the contract "risk free." (See my complaint on the BBB.) The truth is that they never refund a penny once they get it- no matter how unhappy the client is or how poor the matches are. They also never apologize for their mistakes and never redo or refund even terrible dates. First, my matches from both IJL and EPS were poor compared to matches I can easily find for myself on Hinge or Bumble or compared to the matches I had with Tawkify, another dating service. Second, when a client is unhappy with IJL's services, their strategy is DENY ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND BLAME AND PERSONALLY ATTACK THE CLIENT! See for yourself- scroll to negative online reviews on sites such as yelp and read their responses. (On this site they at least say they will reach out, but based on the one star reviews, it looks like they did nothing.) IJL consistently responds to negative reviews in an invalidating, dismissive, and disrespectful manner. If a client said anything nice about a person they were matched with, they argue that this is "proof" that it was a good match. This is not logical- everyone has good qualities. If it was a good match, the client would be writing a positive review! Also, If you are a high earner and you tell them how much money you make, two things may happen. 1. They may charge you more for their service. I went on several dates with IJL over a 10 month period. Some men paid as little as $5k for the year while others were charged $6k for 6 months! 2. They will tell you lies to try to upsell you to their dramatically more expensive package described above. I had a much better experience with TAWKIFY, a matchmaking company that does real matchmaking. (They don't just match to profiles, your matchmaker always does a video call to prescreen anyone she is going to match you with.) With TAWKIFY, once you use half of your matches, you can have a refund on your remaining matches if you like. IJL and EPS offer no such refunds because they know too many people would ask for refunds. Finally, keep in mind that a dating service is no safer than dating online unless the company does background checks, and I don't know of any that do. I was very reluctant to try online dating due to privacy and safety issues, and I had also thought that I would meet better people through a dating service. A poor experience with both IJL and EPS led me to try Hinge, Bumble, and The League. Ironically, 2 of my first 3 EPS dates were in my Hinge feed on the first day! I met men on Bumble and Hinge who are better matches for me- and have better character- than the men I paid thousands of dollars to meet through IJL or EPS. In addition, you can prescreen the men yourself before you meet them by doing a phone call or video chat. So, if you are considering IJL I recommend that you have some professional photos taken, put some effort into a profile and go on Hinge, Bumble, and maybe The League (beware narcissists on this one though!) If you still want a matchmaking service, I highly recommend TAWKIFY. Good Luck!

I joined IJL last December, I was promised dates, & coaching. My experience so far is disappointing. I only had 3 dates, no coaching, or feedback after. I’m the one constantly chasing the matchmakers. I have not heard anything in 9 weeks. When i chased again, I was told they would call me, I’m still waiting for the call. They have tried to match me with someone who is 18 years older, and even though I refused, have tried to present him again a few weeks later. The subscription fees are high, so I really thought the fee would match the service. It has been extremely stressful and upsetting for me. Update: I have emailed & left numerous voicemails requesting an update, and all are ignored. Customer Service is non existent, as their staff cannot reply to an email. I would not recommend this service, avoid at all costs.

Yeah had high hopes for getting dates. I keep open mind and had 2/5 dates I signed up. Communication is crappy as many have experienced. Been going on for months without a date. The 2 dates I did have weren’t even serious in dating. One worked nights so getting to answer was nearly impossible. My 2nd date her profile hasn’t been updated in over a year so the information provided to me was not accurate after going on the date and asking her questions. She stated that she has asked them to update it because of the similar issues she has had with other dates. Lastly got new coach and as usual get phone call stating we are working in your next match. At this point I’m not even interested in moving forward since it’s been 3+ months since my last date.
