This is a total ripoff. I asked for my money back many times and they just ignore me. In one year they had about 4 people to match me with, one of which cancelled on the matchmaker. The other 3 were OK but not my type. I even sent them pictures of my type so the would know. They ignore all my comments because they have no inventory of candidates. An absolute disaster.

Once again I can't say enough about how…
Once again I can't say enough about how poorly this company treats clients. I was just informed that when I was on a military deployment I was offered a date and it is going to count it against me for saying no. Truth be told, I am pretty sure the matchmaker provided the wrong date, but that's the kind of company you would be dealing with!
In the IJL response it says I have 10 dates used, yet the IJL matchmaker told me 9 dates used just a few weeks ago! It speaks volumes that the company can't even get their own story straight when it comes to a paying customer and what they signed up and paid good money for! DON'T USE THIS SERVICE!!

I wish I could give ZERO stars
I wish I could give ZERO stars. I don't know how this company stays in business. I told the person who I was speaking with over TWO years ago that I was NOT interested in the absurdly high cost of the service and I have been constantly called and called, where it's boarding on harassment. What part of I NEVER call back that I am NOT interested do they not understand?? Other companies would take you off the list. This company is complete garbage.

CLASS ACTIONS FOR A REASON
This company has recently settled 2 class action lawsuits over their sleazy business practices. They will talk you into certain parameters then not include them in your contract but hold you to them. Once you sign up, you cannot change age range or anything else. They talked me into an upper age range that is outside of my comfort zone and didn't tell me that it was contractually binding. And, more importantly, IT'S NOT IN THE CONTRACT. Almost every date they've offered is 6 to 12 years older than me. And when I say no, guess what? They don't have to set up a date and I'm one date down against my limit. One date they offered me was 4 years younger than my mom. They don't care about political criteria and won't even ask, even if that's important criteria for you. They drag their feet, do not return emails, and have NO intention of actually matching you. They only match based on location and age to offer you the 12 dates. Their so-called mediator told me that the date offers they make are not intended to all be matches. That sums it up. There is no matching based on appearance, fitness, compatibility, or any other quality. They do not do follow up coaching as they are contractually obligated to do. You might as well throw a match on a pile of money. I am going to have to sue over my issues as they have no intention of working with you once they get your money. You will have more selection and more information about people if you use Bumble or another stupid dating app. They love to tell you how "fun" your dates will be. There is nothing fun about dealing with this company. They are completely unethical. DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY
google It's Just Lunch class action
If you have an issue, you have to first go through their "mediator" who is just a company guy, not independent. During the time you communicate with him, dates aren't being set up. So I contacted the company after never receiving responses. Now they have threatened to cancel my contract and keep all the money. If you act "inappropriate" ACCORDING TO THEM, they cancel you. Does that sound like a company that's interested in working with you? Nope. If you speak up and stand up for yourself, you're gone and your money too. It's a scam ...all misrepresentations from beginning to end. If you act like a good little Stepford wife and don't challenge them, it'll be fine.
UPDATE: In response to IJLs response below, I am not interested in this guy. He is not a match for me and is 6 years older. I only agreed to go on the date so they have to work for their money. They're going to set the date up anyway KNOWING I'M NOT INTERESTED IN HIM. What kind of job are they doing for that guy?!? And they have now suspended my contract because I made a claim to my credit card because I've been defrauded. Only I can suspend my account under the contract but they did it anyway. Sleazy business practices. They are hoping that 6 months goes by then the contract is over and they keep my money. If I don't win credit card challenge, I'm going on every date and each date will get a copy of the class action lawsuits against this sham company.

IJL regrets you have not enjoyed your experience as this is not the norm. We disagree with the statements you have made about your membership and services provided thus far as you recently had an upcoming date scheduled that we were looking forward to, that we unfortunately had to cancel due to a dispute you filed with a 3rd party. Your account is currently on hold during that dispute process. Once there is a final outcome in the dispute, our management team will reach out to you to further discuss your concerns as client satisfaction is of the upmost importance to IJL.

Took my $5k and ghosted me
Gave them over $5,000, and almost a year later and never received any of the services promised. Once they got the money, they ghosted me. Had to sue them in Colorado to get my money back.

HI Mike, We appreciate you sharing your experience, however, you dated with the Colorado office which is an independently owned and operated location of IJL. We have shared your concerns with them for review and follow up. Thank you. IJL

I was going to rejoin its just lunch
I was going to rejoin its just lunch, but I'm extremely Glad I didnt after being treated terribly by them recently, And would strongly advise anyone not to join.
I joined its just lunch around 10 years ago, from memory I think it was for 6 dates. I was phoned recently, in regards to myself being matched with someone and going on a date free of charge. I thought great, I was given a date and time. Anyway the date and time was sent to me again as a reminder. It appeared tobe a different date, the 01 of Feb rather than the 29th of Jan. I sent an email to clarify what day it was, I was told this date is the correct one. In the UK we are 6 hrs ahead of the U.S, I was woken up at 945pm Monday 29th, with a call from one of the match makers. A very stern and disappointed type voise said, Daniel Why did you not show up for your date today. I said, it wasn't today, it was confirmed as the 1st of Feb, she said no it's not, why didn't you show up. I looked back at the email, and being dyslexic, I overlooked the date, which I thought was the 01/02/2024, It actually said the 01/29/2024, rather than 29/01/2024. I said look the numbers were the wrong way around, stating 01 rather than 29 at the beginning. She said, yeah but in those numbers it said 29, she repeated this 7 times, taking no account of the fact that she phoned me at 945pm uk time, when I was a sleep and she didnt acknowledge, her mistake and kept repeating herself over and over. clearly, I had made a mistake because those numbers were in the wrong order. Out of huge frustration, I put the phone down. I phoned the the match makers number and apologised the next day for putting the phone down, and asked, if it was OK with The lady I was going to go ondate with, If this could be rescheduled or not at all, either way is fine. I also sent 3 emails apologising again and asking, "I've had no response at all
Terrible terrible Company, I can't say it strongly enough I'm so glad I didn't in end rejoin as a paying member. Don't become a member, UK providers are cheaper and they don't phone to tell you off for a mistake at close to 10pm at night

It's Just Lunch is Not a Match!
My IJL subscription was one disappointment after another.
After speaking with IJL matchmakers on the phone at sign-up, I received the Bio they wrote for me. I was alarmed because much had been embellished and was not true. I submitted a corrected, truthful Bio back to IJL. After going out on several dates, it seemed IJL was continuing to use the original Bio instead of the edited Bio that I had shared, because matches asked about interests from the original Bio. If IJL was embellishing my profile to “sell” me to other clients, what was IJL doing to other clients’ profiles? It seems misleading that IJL is not matching clients on actual likes and dislikes, but rather on exaggerations or alterations of profiles.
I provided IJL with photos of the kinds of men I find physically attractive. Unfortunately, I don't believe that IJL considered these. I don't judge people solely on appearance. However, many dates I was set up with were the antithesis of the type of man I'm attracted to.
Where matches lived was an issue. Someone living hours away from me (even in another state) does not make for a realistic match. I was appalled to learn that matchmakers did not know what actual jobs their clients have. They seemed surprised when I told them what my dates did for a living. This was something IJL should have investigated and verified when writing their clients' Bios.
Signing up with IJL was a financial investment. I hoped that the matches would be vetted and evenly matched for me. IJL sent me on wild goose chases and set me up with low quality matches that I could have found on dating apps on my own. I expected that IJL would provide the professional services they advertised. Unfortunately, they did not. I was asked on multiple occasions to write reviews for IJL. I have much to say. It’s not glowing. What IJL is doing is unacceptable. I'm looking out for the safety of other potential customers. Buyer beware. Unfortunately, I wasted my time, money, and hopes with IJL.

It’s Just Lunch is a scam
It’s Just Lunch is a scam. They match men who have not paid for dates in 15-18 years and who are not a match according to information provided. They’ve been sued numerous times and have settled class action suits for ripping people off and not providing the services they promise. Avoid IJL like the plague. $4,500 CAD that I may as well have thrown in the garbage. IJL has a disgusting and unethical way of doing business.
