my school has used iready since second grade, and now I’m in eighth grade and it’s still HORRIBLE. recently, iready got sued and im talking a massive lawsuit on this one. they got sued for HARVESTING STUDENTS SENSITIVE INFORMATION AND SELLING IT TO SKETCHY EQUITY COMPANIES. now that is extremely messed up. also, my school HEAVILY relies on iReady to determine our grades, so if we get a bad grade on the diagnostic and I mean like REALLY bad, like if you’re in eighth grade and got a fifth grade score on the ELA diagnostic (WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I TOOK THE LAST DIAGNOSTIC BECAUSE ALL THE QUESTIONS MAKE ZERO SENSE) which I mind you is really easy to do because the questions are vague as heck, you can end up getting put in intervention class for the diagnostic that you failed or just downright repeat the grade for that specific class all over again. There have also been numerous occurrences, not even occasions because they happen ALL THE TIME. Like at the beginning of a lesson, iready just God smacks me with some random math question that I have, for one, never seen anything like it in my life, and most education programs would give me an example on how to solve it because they would know that I haven’t seen anything like it before, but instead, I ready immediately asks me to solve it when I have absolutely no clue what to do because I ready doesn’t teach you ANYTHING. it just expects you to know everything. so if that’s the case, then what even is the point of the diagnostic? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! And even when they do give examples, they always SUCK and they mention literally the most important parts in two words of the entire example, and that’s really saying something considering I ready takes a whole 5 MINUTES JUST TO SHOW ONE EXAMPLE. And Iready recently added this feature where if you get A SINGLE QUESTION WRONG ON AN ELA LESSON YOU HAVE TO DO THIS PRACTICE THING WHICH TAKES LIKE FIVE MINUTES TO COMPLETE, WHERE YOU HAVE TO ANSWER THE MOST UNNECESSARY AND UNHELPFUL QUESTIONS IN EXISTENCE. AND YOU HAVE TO DO THAT FOR EVERY SINGLE QUESTION YOU GET WRONG SO NOT ONLY DOES THE PRACTICE THING BURN YOU OUT AFTER YOU GET A SINGLE QUESTION WRONG, BUT AT THAT POINT WHEN YOU COMPLETE THE PRACTICE THING YOUR BRAIN IS TOO TIRED TO DO ANYTHING SO YOU’RE MORE LIKELY TO GET MORE QUESTIONS WRONG AND THEN YOU’RE GONNA HAVE TO DO MORE UNNECESSARY AND UNHELPFUL PRACTICE SECTIONS AND BURN YOUR BRAIN OUT EVEN MORE. don’t even get me started on the brakes in the middle of I ready lessons. I ready has these animations every now and then that plays after you get a few questions, and these animations are just COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY. I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to serve as breaks, but if anything they do the exact opposite, they just waste time. and I ready decides whether you’re doing good based on TIME, not actually whether you’re learning the subject or not. So you could have 180 minutes on a singular subject and I ready and you could also not understand a single thing about the subject and I already would consider that you’re doing “good”. It doesn’t directly say whether you’re doing good or bad or not but in the lessons stats section there’s this time goal thing which basically gives you goals for the week for the amount of time you have to do iready for, which once again doesn’t show us how good we’re doing based on what we’ve learned. So once again, you could have 180 minutes on math and you could not understand the subject at all, and iready would consider you to be doing “good”. I could keep ranting about this for hours, but I think I’ve made my point. iReady SUCKS BEYOND WHAT WORDS CAN DESCRIBE AND IT’S TIME FOR IT TO GO.

This is written by a 13 year old in 8th grade. I-ready is one of the biggest time wasters I have ever seen in my life. Not only does it force you to take almost 3 minutes to look at your mistake instead of just letting you figure it out on your own. The lessons are also absolute trash in my opinion since they don't let you go at your own pace and it takes almost 20 seconds off your mortal time on this Earth just to explain why you got an answer correct. The fact that the district even thinks about using I-ready is actually disgusting and despicable. I have nothing in my soul for I-ready except hate. Words cannot describe how much I hate this app. It's a stupid waste of time, and they replaced the breaks on tests with breathing exercises. THAT MAKES NO SENSE! I am actively breathing at any given moment, and it's simply useless just to take a full minute off your mortal time on this blue trapped bubble just to take a breathing break that you already have, and subsequently lowers the amount of time you have to complete diagnostics and tests. If given the option I would actually bring a sledge hammer to all of the servers, but sadly since that's illegal, I won't. I-ready genuinely feels like it was written by some incompetent brain-dead CEO.

My child always have to go on this app she is always crying because ALL of her teachers are making her go on the app 24\7 and back in my old days we were able to go outside and play now a days they always have to go on this app and she said that she HAS TO GET A PERFECT SCORE IN I READY and she HAS TO GET 45 MINUTES this makes me feel bad because all of the student have to do this please let them be kids and just stop i-ready!!! and I wish i could give this app zero stars because she is always telling me this app sucks so much that she does not even want to go to school!!!

iReady is an absolutely HIDEOUS digital torture chamber. The diagnostics are long and force you to slog through what feels like hours of busywork, and if you accidentally do too good on the test you’re doing nuclear physics in your 2nd grade math class. This Chromebook Iron Maiden made me cry several times across middle school and high school.

I'm in 6th grade in the middle of class right now,but I ready isn't what it says it is,it makes my peers and other people in my school rage.

I hate this app and the answers are sometimes wrong. They give no instructions and no way of teaching on how to solve problems in my opinon worse than reading plus.

Absolutely useless. Each lesson takes unnecessarily long, and cannot supplement teaching.
