My life’s adventure in summer 2022
My experience has been the best in my life for now. It was my first time traveling out of my country and I always used to think that my first flight it would be to another country but no USA, I think this has been my third or fourth option always. Even though, everything just happened, I got my application really well with this company and I noticed that they are so strict about every information of you because the USA laws and etc, and that’s really great because it’s something that makes you feel trustworthy. Well, I got into USA so scared because I knew english but it was terrible, my native language is spanish, so my grammar and vocabulary (let’s not talk about the fluency, that was the worst) in english made me feel ashamed about it, I was terrified of saying any word in english, but at the end I got used to the listening and speaking of people around me, and they helped me with that situation too. I’m comfortable about the skills that I have to handle this. About the camp, it was AMAZING for me. It was a camp for children with special needs, there were children with autism, attention deficit, oppositional defiant disorder (odd) and others that got me really excited because I like the psychology stuff, I have a degree in psychology and I learnt so much like into practices with these kids and at the end some of them ended of loving me and liked to hanging out with me as someone that they really trusted for saying anything. Those children changed my life, seriously, because you never imagined how harsh could be for them to get a conversation with someone, or how to treat people properly to make them your friends, or how to behave well, like they’re processing so much in their minds that got them frustrated about it, and that could bring them down into a meltdown or something worst. Working with these children it isn’t an assignment for everyone, just people that have worked with these cases or have lived this and really love working with children could handle it because they need special attention and require infinite patience to deal with it. At the end, this was really worth it, I learnt a lot about them like prioritize what you really want in life and what’s important for you in life, they taught me that and I’m really thankful for it, and also I ended of loving them, they stole part of my heart for a long time. Also, I met another staffs from other countries. This was a really funny and lovely part because there were people from Brasil, England, USA, Ireland, Scotland, India, Pakistan that just talked in english because it was their first language or it was just the language that they used to use for speaking around there, and they were spanish there, and they were learning from the latins ones. The Latin people or the people that speaks spanish that I met there were THE BEST. Each person, each inner proud of their countries made me fell in love with each culture that they shared with me, people from Dominican Republic, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, España, Honduras and Bolivia made me feel as part of a big family, we always were a great support on each other and always made each moment unforgettable. They will always be in my heart and mind. At the end, I have no regrets about everything that I sacrificed to make this possible. Infinity thanks to my agency Calex in Dominican Republic and InterExchange for being part of my greatest adventure of the year 2022.
