Disappointing
Honestly, I am always a bit disappointed with the lack of seriousness/ quality for BLS Healthcare CPR/AED, as a Registered Nurse. I was a flight attendant that became a RN and currently have returned to flying but still keep my license. The airline industry is far superior with its training and testing and we (as Flight Attendants) are not certified in CPR/AED but must pass as though we are, to ensure correct response and understanding. The American Heart online course was dismal and was very much lacking fluidity (it was all over). The test out which was scheduled for an hour took no more than 5 minutes. No set scenario to set a scene; no fluid follow through…only asked to show how to do compressions, Sunil ate breaths and work ambulance bag….oh I was asked to follow prompts on the AED. I’m so thankful for my airline training. Not too impressed with American Hearts programs…the name it’s self should exude a certain level of seriousness, and high quality standards.
