The indigo experience was an excellent way for me to be able to experience research at a college level, where I had the attention of a professor and tools I needed to learn about a field in depth. I studied neuroscience with Dr. Jorge Aliva (UCLA).

I felt really supported by Dr. Krishnan and Sam Lefcourt, the TA. The length of the sessions were perfect, not too short and not too long. I think we did spend a lot of time going over the format of a paper and how the paper should be written rather than the actually content which I would have preferred to focus on. I think more time for actual content and the later couple sessions to focus on 1:1 formatting the paper would have split my time up a little better.

This research program provided a valuable learning experience and helped me strengthen my academic research and critical thinking skills. The guidance and structure of the program made the process engaging and insightful

I was a student with Indigo Research, and I am very happy that I committed to this program. I was able to conduct & write my own research paper on women's infertility and publish it with the International Journal of High School Research with a mentor from Johns Hopkins University. And ultimately, I got into my dream colleges. But what the Indigo website doesn't tell you is the invisible skill you gain from being a student here. Through planning intense meetings and communicating with mentors, you learn how to effectively work with others and gain connections that you can use beyond your research paper; it instills a unique sense of responsibility and endurance that not many extracurricular activities can provide. I highly recommend this program for students who are driven and want to add more to their resume and to their skills.

I highly recommend Indigo Research to any student interested in doing real science. My experience with the program was incredibly valuable. I wrote an astrophysics paper and was lucky enough to work with my amazing mentor, Dr. Chima McGruder, and my TA, Catherine Petretti. I am so grateful to both of them. They were incredibly supportive, answered all my questions, and patiently guided me through the entire writing process.Thanks to them, I learned so much more about astrophysics than I ever could have on my own. I gained real research and writing skills that will definitely help me in college and beyond.If you are thinking about joining Indigo Research, you should definitely do it. Getting to learn from mentors who care this much about your growth is absolutely worth it.

IRIS Indigo pushed me in ways that truly opened my eyes to the extent of my own potential. The program guides you towards publishing a research paper using an 8-week efficient process that teaches you the fundamentals of research and writing. As someone who had zero prior experience studying neuroscience and research, I was able to write an in-depth review paper from scratch. Overall, I am very grateful for the opportunity given to me and would highly recommend the program to any students looking to improve their research skills.
