I have not heard back from them, website seem to be either in the middle of shutting down. I have not received any confirmation no follow up. I called them and it seems the inbox is full same goes with the email. I can’t contact anyone. Feels like I took a fat L $315usd I orders my jacket back In Nov 2025 and now it’s Jan 2026. Nothing from them, if anyone has gotten a hold of them please advise how.

I wanted a custom leather jacket for my wife, and Independence Brothers had ~decent reviews, so I decided to risk it. We filled out everything on their form, but then left explicit, detailed notes in the comment section of the order. They wrote us back to confirm everything, and then we double checked that they had, in fact, read through the CUSTOM notes on this CUSTOM leather jacket. When we got the jacket, out of the box it didn’t fit right. WAY too baggy, proportioned wrong, all of that. We wrote to the company to try to understand why on earth they screwed it up, and after talking eventually with the owner (who was an absolute prick), we got nowhere (they wanted to charge us an additional $100 to fix their mistake). I did a credit card chargeback. These guys were the WORST.

For a couple of years now I have been looking for a very specific leather jacket design from a picture I saw somewhere back in 2015. On the site of Independence Brothers I found exactly what I was looking for and on the 15’th of November 2023 I ordered a jacket from the website and payed 339 USD. After two days I was contacted by email sent from an employee of the company, Maria Ermolenko. We exchanged a couple of emails discussing the size of the jacket and the approximate ETA was at the time set to roughly sometime in January. I was in the US for about a month and a half and hoped that I will receive the jacket by the time I leave but tough luck. At the end of January I left the country and contacted the company in order to change the shipping address from the States to Bulgaria. Maria Ermolenko sent me an invoice for 45 USD that I payed on the 5’th of February for international shipping and they confirmed that the shipping information was updated. Around the 26’th of February I got a tracking number for a USPS package witch Maria Ermolenko claims was delivered to the old shipping address in the States. She admitted that they were at fault and explained that some kind of mix-up must of happened and they sent the jacket to the wrong CONTINENT, but denied me a refund and said that they will make a new jacket and send it this time to me at the correct address in Europe. It’s been about three months after the last email from her and 6 months after I made the order and nothing is happening. I tried multiple times to get in touch with someone from the company but they will not return my emails. I reported the company to my bank but since I wired the money with a 3D protected password and it’s been more than 6 month after the payment I cannot dispute the charge. My bank blacklisted the company but I still lost 384 USD in total. So I reported the company to the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Overall I am really disappointed and seeing the other reviews on here I begin to think that (A) – I’m unlucky and hope that the jacket will arrive in the next couple of years or (B) – It’s a scam. My only advice is if you think about ordering from this website and company in general be prepared to lose some money.

Hey Iliyan, apologies for the delay. We are making your jacket now and will ship it when the next shipment goes out. It was unfortunate that it was shipped to the airbnb you were staying in. We gave you an estimate of 2-3 months and you only had 1.5 months in that, we suggest not doing that in the future as our backend got screwed up with the multiple shipping addresses, we don't often have this issue and we screwed up. There's a lot of accusations in this for me to respond to, but we have been responding to every email you sent. We did have to wait unfortunately once we shipped to your airbnb to see if it would come back, as that sometimes takes a month. I'm unsure why you weren't able to contact your host and ship it to you, maybe he took it for himself which you could have filed for refund with airbnb coverage.

Hi Corey, I saw your email with your concerns - 1. Having a water resistant coating on the exterior does not imply it's fake leather. 2. Having a undyed backing does also not imply this. I understand it can be difficult to tell what type of leather a garment is made out of when inspecting it, it's far easier when you visit the tannery in person - as I have! Cheers.

This company is extremely frustrating to do business with. I ordered my jacket back at the end of September and confirmed my measurements on 10/9/2023.. the confirmation email said it takes 6-8 weeks to make the jacket(estimate) and gives a link to check the status. My issue is that from day one of confirmation that stays checker has never changed and supposedly it’s updated every 3-4 weeks but that is not the case. Also the eta on the status checker states that my jacket was 17th in line to be produced and that they make about 13 jackets a week so my jacket should be ready in 2-3 weeks so after production, inspection, and shipping is get it in around a month. Again this was October 9.. it is now almost Christmas and I still haven’t gotten my jacket. When I reached out to get a status ”Maria” nonchalantly told me to use the “handy dandy” order checker, like I haven’t been using it already and started that in the first email. And then she states “your jacket is where it should be in the queue”, are you serious!!!! When I expressed my displeasure with their service I got an email stating that my jacket is ready and will ship in about a week.. this was Dec 7.. it is now dec 11 and still no tracking number.. I will not ever order anything from these people again

Hey Daniel, sorry that the order checker isn't entirely accurate. It's a simple computer program that tries to estimate things. It can't account for real life of course. We've decided to delete it entirely, partly due to your frustration! Future customers can simply just reach out to us and we will do the extra work on the backend to check for them. You should have received your jacket by now, I hope it was worth the wait! Cheers. - Scott

Jacket I received for $400 looked like something out of a cartoon. I gave them extremely accurate body measurements (I don't understand why that's not enough to make a jacket) and accurate measurements off my best fitting hoodie. Short of going to a tailor, I have no clue how I would get better measurements. They have a strict no refund policy. Refusing me a refund even though they hadn't even started production yet. I know this because they said as much. At my most optimistic I'd say that if you've had custom jackets made for you before and have perfect measurements. This service might work for you. Anyone outside of those exact parameters shouldn't touch this company with a 10 foot pole. I can't comment on the quality of the jacket because I'm unable to even wear mine. Atrocious company.

Hi Alex, as we state on our measurement guide, don't use a hoodie! Or... it'll fit like a hoodie. However, we can still work with you to make this right. Just contact us and we'll get you alterations.

Though I was initially very excited for this jacket, I found it to be lacking. Just because they get certain measurements correct, does not mean that a jacket fits you properly. Customer service (Maria) was rude, and eventually just stopped answering. I am now stuck with a jacket that doesn't fit correctly and for which I have absolutely no use. Do not, under any circumstances do business with these people.

Hi Chris, sorry you had this experience! We do our best to instruct customers properly on how to measure themselves, but ultimately we don't have any insight into whether or not the customer has provided accurate measurements. We do offer alteration services of course for a fee. I'm unsure what else we could provide for you? We can't remake your entire jacket for free if we did nothing wrong. We suggest to customers to find a local tailor if they're worried about their measurements being incorrect.
