Someone commented something along the lines "They will imprison Trump because of the newest allegations" i replied "Yeah they got him. This time they got him. Really they got him, not like the last time or the time before that or before that." Guess what: I got banned. Imgur is a leftist identity politics echochamber.

It used to be about funny images and memes and then at some point it became a huge communist echo chamber. Nearly all posts are attacking their political opponents and trying to encourage communistic ideology. Communists have ruined every country

imgur will not allow you to have an opinion if it isn't a "far left" opinion. It's the most one-sided, weak minded site I've ever had the displeasure of visiting.

Fun to browse, but unless you're a progressive liberal keep your opinions to yourself. I just joined and within a day I got shadowbanned because of some comments I made on a topic where I was outnumbered 20:1. Turns out if you can get two or more people to report you, you get banned for 24 hours with no explanation, no warning. Conservatives, beware.

This site has been hijacked by the occupy democrats organization. Political posts get an unnatural amount of upvotes and comments in a very short period of time. Meaning users with multiple accounts and bots. For fun and meme's it is useless, it's more cringe than facebook.

It's 99% young liberals circle-jerking each other. Basically like reddit, but much worse. I tried blocking the politics tag and yet still get politics. Not worth it.

I don't even care about US politics. But is painfull obvious 50% of the content is leftist propaganda.

Beyond it having become an overly politicized platform, it has also become extremely hateful towards anything that suggests there's a bit more nuance to be had than just agreeing to everything on the extreme side of liberal. I had moved to 9gag before, but came back because I have been often accused for being a 'libtard' there, for trying to explain there's a lot of middle of the road solutions to be found rather than becoming hateful towards entire ethnic groups and whatnot. Was down voted to oblivion on imgur for suggesting a slightly more centrist view then what they hold dear. My replies where I tried to explain myself further to not get treated like I was a racist monster disappear as soon as I write them. Not ok in the slightest. As a disclaimer, I am for equal rights for all, an inclusive society and am approximately a social Democrat. But apparently I wasn't extreme enough to not get lots of hatred from the community.
