I think there is a saying that is takes 3 months to make something a habit. Well not with ILKB! It's more like 3 classes and its a habit! I never thought a workout could be so addicting and fun! The instructors are amazing and so motivating! It is a no man left behind atmosphere and I love it!

ILKB Philly - Beyond Worthwhile!
Joining and actively taking part in ILoveKickboxing Philly has been one of the best decisions that I have made for my self in a really long time.
First off, the fitness element: I say this to every newbie I come across, "the workout will kick your butt, but it will be worth it." The conditioning, bag rounds, and partner drills are physically challenging, but with consistency you actually FEEL yourself continually improving. And even after the first few times, you walk out feeling like a rockstar! Speaking as someone who joined not only to "get fit" or "lose weight," but to regain a lost sense of power, the strength that I've felt walking out of these classes has in itself been valuable! Not to mention that it's way more exciting than running on a treadmill. Also, worth noting, there are truly members of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness capabilities in class - instructors are happy to adapt workouts for folks who might need it, and I've never witnessed any shaming or judgment, only encouragement.
The supportive element of our ILKB Phamily (yep, at Philly ILKB we call ourselves a Pham), has probably been the greatest draw to keep coming back. Instructors are super encouraging from the moment you walk in the door. They do a great job of working with "first day friends," and keep us all connected, in high spirits, and supportive of one another on our special Facebook group. I've had instructors go above and beyond to personally work with me any time I wanted to revisit or change my goals, navigate challenges, or improve on something, and I'll often chat them up about my good days, my bad days, and the other ongoings in my life. It's beyond meaningful to me that they genuinely care, not just about my fitness improvement, but about what's going on with me holistically. They are incredibly sensitive and aware, and have always been open to my feedback as a member. At this point, they know me well enough to recognize and engage with me on my many quirks =) As a result of the ILKB culture that they create for us members (and you can choose to what extent you want to partake in that), I've gained a really wonderful community of people who want to be their best selves and who hold a positive space for me to be my best self.

ILKB Nashville is my fitness family and home
This is now my fitness home. I've been coming since January and haven't looked back. I have done my fair share of "group classes" that promise a "fit family" and results, and personalized experiences, etc. and this is the first one that has stuck. The trainers are ALL amazing. I don't care who is teaching, I know I will have an amazing workout.
Like any new workout, it took a while for me to get comfortable with the moves and sometimes I still feel awkward on some moves or something but all I have to do is call out or wave someone over, and they will help me with my form and it's never demeaning or condescending. These trainers genuinely care about me and my fitness. When I have any question about fitness, health, weight training, nutrition, etc. they either tell me what they recommend or refer me to someone who knows if they don't have an answer for me.
The basic breakdown of class is a 15 minute warm up (read intense bootcamp-like class with burpees, pushups, jogging, abs, etc.) followed with stretches and then bag rounds. After the bag rounds, you partner up for some partner punching drills and some more conditioning. I love the way this class is set up because it's so much cardio but at the same time, I get strength training in as well. I came in unable to do pushups anymore and now I can complete 5-10 depending on the type on my toes before having to drop down to my knees--it may not seem like a big deal, but it means a lot to me that I've gained some fitness and strength from these classes.

Crush your Cardio
I needed to dramatically improve my cardio and thought I'd give iLoveKickboxing in Agoura a shot. I was hooked after my first class and joined up for the year. In 14 days I've been 10 times which says nothing but good things about the instructors, the facility, and, most importantly, the workout. My cardio has already improved and I've lost 5 lbs!

Ilovekickboxing Gonzales is AMAZING!!!
Why do I love this kickboxing thing? Because it's awesome! I get a full body workout from some real people! I've done the gym, I tried the "personal trainer" that come with the planet fitness membership and it just didn't motivate me. I like being pushed by seeing people around me doing the same thing I'm doing. I see their struggles and they see mine and we push past them together! I get lost and laugh at myself and the trainer come up and laughs with me then shows me what I should do. I never feel like I'm being judged and we celebrate together at the end of class and that builds unity! I'm kinda socially awkward, so this is an amazing group that accepts that and wants you to succeed! They offer trial that includes your gloves, so really...what do you have to lose?

best workout ever
If you are interested in working out and having fun while doing so,I Love Kickboxing on Boston Post Rd in Orange CT is the best place to go. The instructors are very knowledgeable about their craft. They really motivate you, especially when your body feels like noodles and you want to give up. If you just stick with it the end results will be fantastic. Personally l’ve lost 7 inches from my waste line and 15 lbs. in 4 weeks. Come on...let's do this together.
