I received a 'domain renewal notification service' invoice for £158 today from this company. Whilst it looks legit, this is clearly a scam trying to scare the recipient into paying for a service they do not need. The date has no bearing on the renewal date of the domain, it's just a date to make you think you only have a week to renew. The small print at the bottom of the page reads 'This is an offer to receive notifications regarding your domain. We are not your registrar' which says it all. DO NOT CLICK THE VIEW INVOICE LINK!

Scam. Sending out emails for a non-existent service.

A client received an invoice for their domain for £158. their domain is with ionos. Complete scam.

Received an invoice for £184 to renew a domain. Our domain is managed elsewhere and we only renewed it a few months ago. Their website and own domain are new and don’t work, no social profiles. Avoid completely

We received an unsolicited “invoice” from IDM UK for £93 for a “domain renewal notification” service that we had never ordered or authorised. The document was presented as a formal invoice, with an invoice number, invoice date, due date, “balance due” and payment terms stating that payment must be made within 7 days. Only in the small print of the accompanying email does it state that this is actually an offer to provide domain notification services and that IDM UK is not our domain registrar. In my view, presenting an unsolicited sales offer in this way is highly misleading and could easily cause a business to believe it has an existing payment obligation when it does not. We will not be paying it and have asked IDM UK to remove our details from their systems. I would advise any business receiving one of these to check very carefully whether they have actually ordered the service before making any payment.
