I placed 2 orders both orders were wrong. They sent me RIR instead of Production Reds and two Roos when all were suppose to be female. The buff Orpington's were a mix and again a mixed Roo in all female. Ordered two male male Orpington was sent a female and a male. What happened to Texas helping Texans, more like here have some Vaseline🫤.

I was really worried about buying chicks thru the mail, cuz I've never done it before & it just seems so dangerous for them, But since Ideal had so many unusual breeds that I couldn't find anywhere else & since I'm addicted to chickens, lol, I ordered 10 chicks. Each one a different breed. I ordered early to make sure all the breeds I wanted would still be available, so I had to wait for 4 months for my hatch day, which gave me plenty of time to worry & believe me, I worried the whole time, lol. Thinking something would go wrong, they'd be out of the breeds I wanted or they'd send the wrong breeds or they'd be all roosters or some or all of them would be dead or hurt when they got here & so on & so forth. But, to my delight, all 10 chicks arrived alive & healthy, right on the exact day they said they would. Of course, at the time, I didn't know for sure if they were the right breeds or if they were all hens, like I wanted. Well, here it is, 4 1/2 months later & yes, all my chicks are still healthy, they're the right breed, they're all hens, even the little Frizzle is a hen, which is just good luck on my part, because bantams are always straight run. So ya, I'm more than happy with Ideal! Other than doing a great job at delivering exactly what I ordered, other great things about this company is that they have unusual breeds that can't be found anywhere else at a reasonable price & Ideal's prices are better than just reasonable too. They're cheaper than all three local hatcheries that're in my area. Also, they don't make you buy 5 or 10 of the same bird. You can buy one of each, as long as your order comes to at least $30. I wish all hatcheries were like that, but hardly any are. So for that reason & so many others, Ideal is my go-to for any new birds I get, from now on!
