It is a very sad experience. They charge you for a whole year and do not refund you when you cancel. Some time businesses do not need the service anymore. There should be an option of cancelling. Specially when we have used them for some year. Very weird. DigitizedLogos.com

We had to use this terrible software for a year. It always made us problem with wrong timelogs, lost clockins, and mixed tasks and projects. We had to pay at least double for an employee to follow up hubstaff failures. Since they don’t offer refund we had to use it until terms end. Price is 5x more comparing to alternate better softwares.

We have used Hubstaff for around two years have just discovered that we have been heavily overcharged for most of that time. During this period we only needed 2 to 4 active user accounts, which should have cost in the region of 180 dollars per year. Instead, we have been billed hundreds of dollars per quarter, potentially thousands of dollars in total for seats we have not used. When we queried this in the past, we were told that disabling accounts via time tracking would stop them being billed. We trusted that advice and assumed the extra seats had been cancelled. It is now clear that this was not the case. We are very unhappy with how unclear the seat billing and cancellation process has been, and how long this has gone on without any proactive communication from Hubstaff. We have contacted Hubstaff support to request a full review of our account and a refund for the overcharges. If they handle this fairly and provide an appropriate remedy, we will update this review to reflect that. But we have little hope for now and will update.

This has been the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with any company. Hubstaff’s billing system is completely misleading and feels like a trap. Their platform charged me multiple times — three separate invoices even though I never authorized those payments. I only clicked “Save” to update my settings, and somehow that triggered annual charges without giving me any clear confirmation or checkout screen. When I tried to reach customer support, all I got was an automated bot that forced me to submit a ticket with no real person to talk to. No phone number, no live help, and no immediate way to stop the charges. They also tried to bill me for four team members, even though I only have myself (or fewer users). This kind of deceptive setup makes it extremely difficult to control billing or stop unwanted invoices. This is unfair and unethical business practice, and I’ve had to contact my bank to dispute the charges because there is no clear or honest resolution path through Hubstaff itself. Avoid the company I have been charged twice today, and they attempted to charge me for a third time before canceling my card! Total take $400+ Attempted $700+

Accidentally purchased a yearly subscription from hubstaff. I only utilized the app for one month didn’t realize I was charged for the full year as I don’t check my business card that often. Contacted customer support as advised on the hubstaff FAQ page. The FAQ page stated to email support to discuss a partial refund, alluding that this is a common mistake that happens among customers purchasing a hubstaff subscription. Over the last 2 to 3 months I have been given the runaround, still haven’t been provided a solution, nor a refund. The full subscription was over $250 for those that are curious.

Worst experience ever, they charge you "new seats" just because you deactivate some users and replace for others, every bill is a surprising, and so you reach "screenshot limit" in a tracking tool, it doesn't make sense, please avoid hubstaff and don't waste your valuable time on it.

Hi Victor! I’m sorry to hear about your experience. To clarify, Hubstaff uses per-seat pricing, which means billing is based on the number of members in your organization. Removing a user mid-cycle doesn’t reduce the charge for that period but their seat remains open and can be reassigned without extra cost. Adding new users can create additional charges if the number of seats increases. Kindly contact our Support team and we would be glad to review your account to make sure everything is clear and help you avoid unexpected charges moving forward. Thanks and we'll keep an eye out for your ticket!

As an employee, this company is doing everything it can to assist in the micromanagement of employees and the invasion of privacy. Additionally, I am experiencing a technical issue, and it has been 48 hours with no response from them for assistance. Not a good look.

Hi Robert! I’m sorry for the delay in resolving your issue. That’s not the level of service we aim to provide and we'd like to make sure your technical issue is resolved as quickly as possible. If you could share your ticket number or reach out directly at [email protected], we’ll prioritize your case right away. Regarding your concern about privacy, please note that Hubstaff is designed to help businesses track productivity and projects transparently. Each organization chooses which features to enable, and we provide detailed settings so both employers and employees know what’s being tracked. That said, we believe in balancing accountability with respect for personal privacy and we’re happy to walk through these options with you if it would help. Thanks again for taking the time to share your feedback. It’s very important to us as we continue improving both our product and our support.
