I've been over 6 months trying to move my own money out of HSA Bank, I've filled out 4 different forms. Everytime I do, they come back saying something was wrong or I need to do it a different way. Honestly the worst and most frustrating company I've ever encountered.

I don't recommend HSA Bank at all. If you change your address because you move or for any other reason, they will lock up access to your account. Your HSA benefits card will get declined, your login access will be locked out and you will only have access to their support center via phone. They apparently only use off shore call centers and often hard to understand them completely. When you call in, you will be told "their fraud department is reviewing the account, please call back in 2 to 4 business days". You wait, call back only to receive the same response time after time. This can drag on for months. They shouldn't even be in business in my opinion.

I was referred to this bank by someone and boy I wish I had been here first. My bad. First of all, it's owned by a foreign company if you didn't know. Your money is in foreign accounts with a company is Spain (do your research and dig, it's a company owned by a company). You get the picture. The customer service is terrible. I thankfully was able to open an account with lively which is US owned and get money into before the tax time because I couldn't deposit money in HSA Bank. I still have not been able to log into my account. I was never able to confirm my email. It's a huge mess and I am sure that I am going to lose money when I attempt to close the account that I can't access. I have spent hours with the customer service on the phone trying to get my account unlocked. They say they needed paperwork from me, which I provided and they said they have not received it. I have not been able to close my account nor has my spouse. Thankfully, we only have $200 dollars between us. Miraculously, my spouse was able to spend the $200 dollars for some glasses, so we are going to have no money there at all. Hurray! Check out Lively or Fidelity. I wish I had done more research. I had no idea it would be such a mess. Bad on me for not checking. Trust pilot is a great place to start. I should have known better. Do not use this company. There are better ones out there.

Customer service rep barely spoke English and couldn't understand a basic question. He became agitated and belligerent very quickly. I wish I could give 0 stars.

I recently tried to access the funds in my FSA that is administered by HSA Bank along with my HSA and they declined the transaction for a legitimate dental expense. I had to call and hold for over an hour to speak with a supervisor and then they tried to avoid transferring me. My bank account is linked and they denied me access to my funds and them later apologized for the oversight and told me to manually resubmit the request. I had to pay the entire bill from my bank account. They constantly demand receipts and then flag the account and put it on hold. I always submit the receipts immediately but 15-20 days later they say the case is still waiting to be worked. They do everything they can to deny or stall your claim and their customer service is horrible and they have to put you on hold to get answers from management constantly. I am going to report them to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and I would encourage others to do the same. Highly unethical company.

I finally was in a position to move my HSA account out of HSA bank. Their own form says they can transfer assets in kind. My new bank (Fidelity) send a transfer request. Days and weeks pass, and nothing happens. A MONTH later I get a letter in the mail saying the transfer was rejected since I need to liquidate the funds. 1. Why a MONTH?! 2. Why not use the messaging app or email? They have been sending me useless updates for years. But not this important update? 3. Why can’t they transfer in kind, when their own instructions say they can? Basically, they’ll do anything to hold to your money.

This company is the worst. My medical claim payments keep getting denied even though I am submitting the correct documentation and the customer service representatives are RUDE. I will never use my companies spending account benefit again if this is the company we have to use. AWFUL.
