Expect to have to modify it to get it work robustly.
It was easy to install with the carriage bolts. The quick disconnect is a bad idea in an environment with horses. Compression fittings are more robust for this application. So I had to go buy a $10 1/4” F to 1/2” M compression fitting to connect the plastic tubing to the water line. Not all flat back buckets fit. I had to use an older one, new one had a wider lip and wouldn’t fit under the plastic housing. The nut with the plastic knurl came off and didn’t allow the bolt to be tightened enough to prevent the housing from being easily knocked off. Getting a Jerry-built product for $100 bucks is a lot of money to have to then buy the correct components to get it to work right. Parts for this product cost less than $10. Great idea, mediocre execution. And yet I’ll keep it because my horse likes a deep bucket to drink from. I like the ease of cleaning the bucket periodically.
