Non-existent customer support
Working with HoneyQuote resulted in severe administrative errors, financial penalties, and non-existent customer support. I used HoneyQuote to secure a dwelling fire (DP3) policy. They initially wrote an incorrect policy type, and the rewritten policy left an unmitigated 11-day coverage lapse between my prior expiration and the new start date. Despite explicitly confirming via email that they had invoiced my mortgage company to pay the premium directly out of escrow, they failed to ensure payment posted with the carrier. Because HoneyQuote dropped the ball: 1. My mortgage lender flagged the 11-day gap and billed my escrow account a $94 force-placed insurance penalty fee. 2. The carrier is now initiating a policy cancellation for non-payment because HoneyQuote never properly finalized the billing. 3. HoneyQuote provided zero prior notification regarding the billing failure. 4. When I called their customer support line 3 separate times to resolve this emergency, they hung up on me each time. HoneyQuote demonstrated total negligence in managing basic policy setup and mortgagee escrow billing, followed by appalling customer service. Avoid this brokerage if you need a competent team to protect your property.
