I came to Steven at the end of March…
I came to Steven at the end of March 2026 after my mother had passed. I needed someone who could help consolidate all my accounting needs, and file my returns. I paid $7,000 for CPA work to complete 3 different accounts for my taxes. And then to also complete and submit my taxes. Daniel is not a CPA his wife Breanna is, who is also the operations manager. She’s a very nice and respectful woman. She color codes paperwork for you to understand, prints everything out, and communicates. Daniel on the other hand, I thought we had a good relationship, I never once questioned how much he charged me. I gave him my full trust. Especially with me grieving, and dealing with a 13 month old. Daniel had also welcomed a beautiful baby as well. Which is why I never really questioned his attitude or him talking down to me. However it got to a point where from April, we ended up in September, and he forgot to submit my personal and business tax return. I just received a letter from the IRS stating that my taxes were never submitted. This wasn’t the only issue. As a new business owner I didn’t realize I had to also set aside money for sales taxes for the CDTFA. Which wasn’t explained to me. I owe 8000$ in fines and penalties, plus late filing fees in excess of 3000$. With all the money I paid Daniel and all the fines from his lack of detail, attention and respect of completing the job he was paid in full for. I’m out 20,000$. Here’s the best part. Daniel called the CDTFA lady a c***, and wanted 2250$ to contact the CDTFA and put us on a payment plan. Something he said, “ Let me know how you would like to proceed by Monday so I can add it to my schedule for next week as she is chomping at the bit to get $$ from C4L. Daniel”. We called the CDTFA lady, spent 10 minutes on the phone, to get a payment plan and saved our self 2250$+. Oh let me also be clear, I cussed him out in his office for about 30 minutes, cause I was so fed up with his BS. I had to step out and leave my business partner to talk to him. Even Breanna was in her office listening, and said “a lot of this could have been avoided with proper communication.” If your someone who is having a good time with honest tax solutions, that’s great. I’m sure they do great work for those who come to them with everything figured out. And just give them numbers to plug and play. But if you need serious business advice, accounting, and tax prep. Stay away. Unfortunately after how I was treated, and how the last time I came in to sign paperwork that should have been done 3-4 months prior, and I should have been copies during that time to as I requested over 10 times. They have an office, but the hours are….well, whenever they feel like it, summer hours, every holiday is an off day….idk Honest Tax Solutions can SMDFTB👍🏽
