They sent out a Lawn Service they knew nothing about. An XLG Mexican woman on a huge ride on mower did 360 circles in my yard. My yard is to small for such a large piece of machinery. She was on her cell phone the entire time. I attempted to stop them and I did video the entire destruction of my yard. Gnome support apologized and said they would never send them and put in a claim. The claim came back as $35. Which was no wear close to the damage and what I need to pay to get my yard fixed. I allowed them to sent another team but they showed up at 7 am which is against my HOA. So I canceled and they still sent a different team 2 weeks later and I told them I canceled the service with Gnome over 2 weeks ago. They left and I was still charged. I attempted to contact support but they just give me a run around

They are basing their expert advice from pictures to determine grass height and charging four times the original quoted price. If they are going to run a smooth business they need to have their “pros” use a measure tape to validate the height of grass instead of a judgement call from an unclear photo to defraud the consumer. From pictures they determined my grass over 9 inches, which is false. They are supposed to communicate before cutting your grass so you are not surprised with extra fees. This did not happen, no measurements taken just a photo to determine the height, which is consumer fraud, it’s the very definition. Cheating a customer before asking if they want the service. I have proof of area missed and my grass not over 9 inches, buyer beware

Garbage company…garbage people! Nothing but reschedules and cancellation after cancellation so your grass will grow above seven inches and charge you another $50 for the overgrowth trim. Sunny and 85 today, cancelled due to weather at the last minute. I don’t see how you stay in business. Nothing but scammers! I try to cancel and you still keep trying to sell me services . Between three pros and seven reschedules, garbage!!’

This company is inconsistent and does subpar work. The scheduling was hit or miss. They left big clumps of grass along the sidewalks and have left furrows in the grass with the mower wheels. I have told them that I preferred they wait until the lawn dries out. They didn’t. Then today, someone showed up, and without letting me know they had arrived, got the equipment out of the truck. I went out to tell them not to mow today because it had rained heavily this afternoon. There were still puddles!! The worker kept telling me it was not their fault because we had so much rain for the last few months. Last weekend when a worker was here, he used the weed eater/leaf blower next to the pool and blew grass clippings into the pool. We saw them do it because we were in the pool! How stupid do you have to not to know that would happen?? I never want anyone from this company to come to my house again!! But I would like to be contacted about HomeGnome repairing the damage they have caused.

could not get anyone to do my yard. One guy came out and he said he did not realize it was so large. Said he would be back and never came.

It’s disappointing because I was excited to use a service like this. They had 3 opportunities to complete the jobs and each time they either partially completed the work or didn’t show up at all. In the beginning they continuously rescheduled the job. They even marked a job as complete and tried to charge me. I sent someone to inspect the work and no one even showed up. I reached out to the customer service department and they said the service provider uploaded photos of a completely different house and verified no one performed the work. I also hired them for a separate gutter cleaning job and the contractors only did a section of the first story. The contractors uploaded photos of the partial work that was completed and they tried to fully charge me. I sent someone to inspect the work again only to find out they did not complete the job. This has been a horrible experience.

Same thing as Lawnstarter, and both of them are horrible. Scheduling is a hassle, half the “features” on the website don’t work, and the people that get your job simply aren’t going to care for the most part. I liked the last people and they did great work, but ended up ditching me yet again. I don’t know if it’s just my area or unique to these services, but needing to find a new “pro” every month or so is an absolute pain. The “pros” will also be the first to tell you that Home Gnome/Lawnstarter take a pretty big cut of the profits, so maybe that’s why they’re all so apathetic and don’t want to keep clients.

I investigated this company and decided I did not want to use their service. Without my consent or authorization the company attempted to force me to accept their services by scheduling a service call without consulting me. I emailed the company and asked that they cease and desist contacting me and scheduling me for their services. If anyone from their company attempts to enter my property, I informed them that I will contact the authorities for further assistance and reporting unlawful activity.
