I had to cancel my trip due to a death in the family. Hogans Irish cottages (also trading as Sykes in the UK) customer service were unwilling to cancel my trip despite 6+ weeks notice. They insisted I provided a death certificate and if I didnt have that to bring the body to the office. Quite frankly Im appauled at the lack of empathy shown by this company and its highly unprofessional demeanor.

I went to book in person with Hogans Irish Cottages - the gentlemen in the office Jeff was initially very pleasant but asked me extremely detailed personal questions which i thought were strange but he assured me it was all part of the Pandemic/ Company policy. After he told me we need to do a physical exam as the stairs in the cottage were quite steep and required a fitness level of 5 - i didn't know what that meant so i just agreed. I was asked to turn around and drop my trousers where Jeff used rubber gloves due to covid requirement and gave me a full physical. The door swung open, it was the janitor and it turns out Jeff didn't even work there and Hogans Irish Cottages don't even have an office in Ireland!!

Avoid - very poor customer service. No refund policy even when giving over a month and a halfs’ notice.

Avoid Hogan's Irish Cottages! Plans changed due to covid, and we needed to cancel our booking. The staff were incredibly rude and refused to provide a refund. When we asked what situation would warrant a valid cancellation, the staff laughed and said "there are none". We have given plenty of notice for them to get other guests. A no cancellation policy, especially at this time during a Global pandemic, is incredibly poor show. We will never book with Hogans again and I would strongly caution future patrons to also avoid.

Hogans Irish cottages Please take Note. Our Family are upset and disappointed with your lack of understanding to our situation. We have booked and paid in full for a holiday 6 weeks from now. We now need to cancel. Your No Cancelation policy is unreasonable. Most business are understanding and even allow cancellations up to 24 hours in some cases. It is not unreasonable during a Global Pandemic for plans to change. We have given you plenty of notice and would like a refund. Your business Reputation should be important for future customer trust and loyalty. You promote family holidays But in our experience dealing with your company. Its lacking a human touch.

Avoid this company - they offer terrible customer service - refund was requested with weeks notice and they wont refund the amount paid. Things happen in life and plans change - they don't care! AVOID AVOID AVOID

Awful customer service. No stated cancellation period and no grounds to hold deposits when given sufficient notice of cancellation. They refuse to offer any customer service or management to contact. Do NOT book with them!
