I excitedly opened my package and the frogue had a strap with a missing bolt. I have say I wasn't to thrilled.

I received my Sword holder On Wednesday the 28th of October. The rivets used to hold the leather straps on were so poorly attached that they came off in my hand. I actually had to make repairs to this right out of the bag since I needed it for Friday and had I had time I would have returned it and found another supplier. On a positive note though the pirate belt I ordered was as it was advertised and worked well.

I chose this site beacouse everything I wanted this site said was in stock. The day after I paid for my order I was told an item was on back order and could not be sent for weeks. So I was forced to order from another site to get that peace and had to pay for two different shipping to get what I needed in time for an event.

If you truly look back at the Medieval age, the clothing was made of either cotton or wool at that time. The majority of "Renaissance Era" sites are offering "Period" clothing made of rayon or cotton/rayon mix. When I first received a natural cotton shirt size XXL, it was two sizes too small, felt closer to a Large/XL over an XXL. As natural cotton, the minute it was washed it would have shrunk at least another two sizes. Rayon or polyester did not exist at that time. Didn't realize it was so hard to find accurate Medieval attire without having to make it yourself.

The shipping cost more than the product. I don't know why they didn't use the Postal Service to ship which would have been much cheaper. Shipping took longer than promised. Also, since the product (a pouch) was supposed to be "period" I discovered it had a plastic clasp.

I paid for expedited shipping so that the item would get to me in time for an event I planned to wear it to. I received a confirmation email listing my correct address, but the package never arrived. When I called UPS, they stated the address was undeliverable as listed. Apparently, someone at the company keyed in the wrong address for me. When I finally received the product, it didn't produce the kind of lift I had hoped. Overall, my experience was a disappointment.

I wish I could say something positive about my first and last experience with Historical Clothing Review. I ordered 3 items...later found out 2 items out of stock. I was trying to be reasonable, I simply asked that they send the only item in stock to me. The next day they emailed me that the remaining item I ordered was out of stock too. Disappointing...I can't ever take the chance of doing business with them because it is too risky if you need Historical Clothing for an event.

We ordered the child's Renaissance shirt and harem pants. They each cost upwards of $30. The material was a cheap scratchy thin fabric. The shirt said "small" but it's huge and fits an adult. Perhaps they put it in the wrong package by accident? And they charged us $26 to ship two small light items by ground in the US. Waiting to hear back on how it will be rectified :)
