The PMP program is TERRIBLE
So bad. I enrolled in the virtual project management course through Simplilearn & hosted by VT. There is so many reasons why I am desperately trying to cancel. First, at no point did the recruiter, Aayush Soni, mention we would be required to be online for 9, four-hour sessions. Additionally, I said multiple times that I need a self-paced platform because I’m going to be doing this at 5 o’clock in the morning and in the evenings when I have free time. So I was lied to! These 4-hours sessions started on Saturday and Sunday morning at 8am and finished around 12. When I communicated my concern to the recruiter, I was told that I could just login and make it look like I am online and then reference the slides later to get credit. That seems ridiculously pointless. Not to mention, at multiple times during the online session the host kept complaining about how bad the slides were. Which I guess is what we paid for because she wasn’t adding any additional information. She was literally just reading a PowerPoint to us. Additionally, the four hour sessions are just an extremely monotone and condescending woman reading off the slides. Zero helpful information and when certain people would ask questions, she was extremely rude and condescending to them. I started realizing immediately that I was going to have to teach myself how to pass the test. In fact, within the first couple hours of the first session, she mentioned we needed to get the PMI study hall. This is something that isn’t connected to Virginia Tech and it immediately told me that I was going to have to do all the work anyway. Including, getting all my questions answered because I wasn’t comfortable asking this person questions. She made me uncomfortable with the way she answered one woman’s questions on multiple occasions. It made me feel bad for the woman and also made me not want to ask any questions. I gave it two sessions and realized I was not learning anything outside of what was already available to me out there and costs $2000 less. Now, I am trying to get this program canceled and get a refund.Simplilearn is giving me the biggest runaround. They keep saying that we have to get on a phone call and keep telling me that they have put in a ticket through email. They also keep telling me that they have tried calling me. I have zero missed calls and I keep giving them my correct phone number. I just got off the phone with the Customer Service and I had to threaten Legal action. Just know, you can’t just withdraw from this course to get a refund. You will be given the runaround for days and days. With all due respect, Virginia Tech should be ashamed of themselves. It’s a prestigious school that has entered into a scamy trap program. I would avoid this program at all costs and just go through the PMI platform and buy the workbooks. You will save over $1000 and not get the runaround.
