$1,000 to refill an Rx
I found HelixVM through a Google search for prescription refill services. I needed a prescription refill for blood pressure medication. I also wanted to find a service that did not mandate a video visit. I created my account and requested a refill. The process was quick and I did get the refill I needed. However, the provider Mary Ann Buggia MD sent a lab order for a complete blood panel and scheduled me for a follow-up appointment. It seems these providers assume you want to establish primary care with them. I don’t want to establish care with this doctor. The doctor never reached out to me. The worst part is that there is no way to cancel the appointment online. I’m going to have to call HelixVM customer service to see if they will allow me to cancel. Oh and it gets better. The doctor charged my insurance $1,000. It was $500 for an office visit, and $500 for urgent care. $1000 just to fill a prescription and email a lab order. Thank God I have good insurance. I would never use this service again. It’s a cash grab and a scam.
