If I can do a zero star I would. I signed up for surgical tech program. I was promised clinical training and how they’d place me in a clinical site and I’d get all the support. After I paid the tuition in full. They disappeared. No one answers phone calls. It’s been a year since I signed up for the program and I’m yet to be placed in a clinical site. They never answer phone calls and they have done nothing to help me get into a clinical site for training. They won’t refund my money either. Just a bunch of scammers. Do not waste your time or money. Go do a 2 year degree instead. This is a fake business and only after your money.. I’m suing them for fraud and false information. I DO NOT recommend at all.

I am writing to share my experience with Health Tech Academy, which has been extremely disappointing and concerning. In my opinion, this program has been poorly managed and does not provide the support it advertises — especially when it comes to externship placement. Throughout my time enrolled, I was unable to get reliable communication from anyone at the school. Calls go unanswered, there is no voicemail, and all communication is pushed through WhatsApp, which makes the program feel unprofessional and difficult to trust. I consistently received responses only when I was enrolling or making payments, not when I needed help or support. The coursework itself was also problematic. Several of the videos did not work, and many appeared to be pulled directly from YouTube rather than being original instructional content. This made it difficult to learn effectively or feel confident in the material. Communication was also challenging, as it was often difficult to find anyone who spoke fluent English, which added more frustration to an already unorganized process. The lack of externship assistance — one of the major reasons I enrolled — was the final issue for me. Based on my experience, I do not believe this program provides the externship support it advertises. Because of these issues, I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau so that other students are aware of my experience before enrolling.

They are scammers, such of waste of money, they don’t care about your education they just want easy money. I been calling them but they don’t answer, and the few times Maria answered she was rude to me. I also been sending messages to them because I want a refund and they don’t answer. I want a refund as soon as possible

Signed up for their free zoom to learn more about the surgical tech program. All of us joined on-time to wait for over 25 minutes to see their logo and nobody from their end ever joined, wouldn't even respond via chat when they actually started the meeting. Hard pass for me.

This course was a complete waste of time and money. The curriculum was based off of YouTube videos, the quizzes and tests are meaningless and you can just skip past them, and the "hosts" are worthless. The one reason this program even gets a star, is the coaches are attentive and come with real experience. If you choose to complete your clinicals at a facility not within their liking, they refuse to send curriculum or syllabus... which is understandable considering it literally consists of OTHER creators' YouTube videos. Nothing is original. This is a scam. If you want to learn, go to YouTube and look up Surgical Tech Tips. HTA loves that guy.

Hands down the biggest scam! I started this program in April 2025. Everything was great in the beginning! I was promised a fair tuition and availability of all of the resources with the staff. Within the first 24 hours, there were problems already. I was told a different tuition amount that varied almost $750 from the first day that I signed up. I immediately called back and They did rectify the tuition. I also received my contract agreement which stated they will not have authorization to auto draft my account. Within a week, they made an illegal draft on my account and refused to cover the bank fees! Further, the end of the same month, you guessed it, they drafted again! I was furious! I called them back and was given the runaround. I was given several emails to address my concern too. Waited over a week and no one responded. I finally called back and spoke to Maria and finance. She was rude, condescending, and standoffish. She finally realized the error, and claimed that she fixed the system to no longer auto draft. Also, she refused to cover any of the bank overdraft fees. Over the next two months, I had a total of four unauthorized drafts! With me still being in the program, There was little I could do to change my debit card information. I had several hundred dollars in accumulated overdraft fees. Once again, Maria refused to help out with any of the fees. I did complete my program and receive my certification. About a week later, I was greeted with an email from Maria stating I still owed money! I went to my bank and spent over two hours. They are gathering all of my receipts. I submitted it all to her and she further debated and stated that The modified tuition was not valid! I had to spend another hour gathering documents and emails from Anthony who works in admission at health tech Academy. So I was able to substantiate everything! One week later, as you can guess it, they illegally drafted my account. I had to contact my bank and have them Rever the charge. Within two weeks from that, I received another email stating that I owed almost $2000! This amount is even more than the original tuition claim! I responded by email that it was an accurate. However, as usual, no response. This afternoon, I noticed another illegal draft of $263! I contacted our family attorney, gathered information for a civil judgment to recoup all of these fees, and also had to contact my bank and establish a fraud claim. When I went to take my national board exam, they informed me that health tech Academy has lost their accreditation to allow students to Take the national board before they have completed their clinic hours in surgical technology. This was a falsehood that was promised to me through health tech Academy. I had to jump through so many hoops to get my national licensure. Avoid this company at all costs!

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a school. I chose health tech academy because it was self paced and I’m a single teen mom. Not only was I lied to upon admission, I was taken advantage of. I was told that there were many places in my city that does clinical for HTA students… LIE. I was told that I would receive a certificate that I could be hired with… LIE. Now when voicing my complaints no one will get ahold of me. No one will answer the phone. I need a full refund ASAP and a refund for the emotional stress and time wasted.
