I have a Medicare prescription drug plan with this company. Now, I have Covid-19. My doctor prescribed Benzonatate, a common cough medicine, for me, but Healthspring refuses to cover it, so my husband will pay for it out of pocket. Why am I paying a monthly premium to these people if they will not cover the medicine my doctor wants me to have? It should not be allowable for bureaucrats to override the decision of a real doctor who is familiar with my case. I'm so glad we're in the open enrollment period, so I can change to a plan with a better company.

I completed an application for a Medigap F plan, to begin in January 2027 (because my Medicare Advantage is ending Dec 31). Healthspring has not notified whether my application was accepted, yet they withdrew a premium from my checking account today (Oct 21) - three months early! It caused my account to overdraw. They should not begin withdrawals until the policy is in force, and certainly not before they tell you that your application is accepted!

My Medicare Part G plan was through CIGNA. CIGNA recently transferred it to Healthspring (a CIGNA Division). I have received some billings from medical providers charging me the full service amount - no insurance payment shown. I discovered that this is because the bills are not being submitted using the patient ID number - only submitted with the plan ID number. The member ID card from Healthspring only has the Plan ID on it. Luckily I received a paper statement and found it had the Patient ID. I have had to contact all the medical providers and give them the proper ID number and ask them to resubmit all the bills.

I just reviewed the upadate packet for 2027 and I see the ole' 30-90+% rate increases across the board for 2027 are back in play. SHAME ON YOU "HealthSpring" You disgust me with your greed. I don't like you, I DON'T TRUST YOU! You give me great incentive to lie, cheat and attempt to even the score of the gouging you are exacting on us. But, hey, your upper management will be long gone moving on to the next company to exploit so it's all just business, right. FY.

Let's make it simple: EXTREMELY POOR CHOICE for Medicare Cigna PDP. By mistake doctors office sent a prescription to mail order pharmacy while local CVS kept sending messages that they can't fill my prescription every few days. I called doctor's office & that's when I found where my prescription went & they suggested for me to wait a little longer. I waited for a week & decided to call mail order pharmacy & guess what now I'll be waiting even longer because they didn't contact either doctors office or me to let us know that pre-auth is expired & they need a new one. This is NOT the way you deal with old people dependable on their meds. This is negligence & this can literally cause health issues. If I could rate this pharmacy 0 I would

I currently use this company for my Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP), and think that they deserve an failing grade overall. My pluses and minuses are below: Pluses: 1)They don't charge a monthly premium for my Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (PDP). 2) They process refills of medication fairly quickly. Minuses: 1) They don't offer email or fax communication. 2) They have a chat platform available, but normally expect you to call for almost all inquiries. When I chatted recently, the chat agent didn't help one bit and was kind of rude. I hate phone calls for many reasons, including long waits on the line, trouble communicating with foreigners who have poor English and calls offer zero documentation. 3) The costs for their prescription drugs are more expensive than what their predecessor company, Cigna charged. Ever since HealthSpring took over Cigna this year, things have really gone downhill. 4) Yesterday, I received a denial letter of my Medicare Supplement Plan application with HealthSpring. Their denial was based on bogus information they received from a Millman IntelliScript consumer report. The bogus information is that Millman IntelliScript claims I am currently taking Risperidone for Bipolar Disorder. I stopped taking that medication over a year ago, and it shows this in my PCP portal under the "Medication" tab. I had submitted this to HealthSpring too. My doctor faxed an appeal letter to HealthSpring on 8/17/26, but HealthSpring claimed they never received it. My opinion is that HealthSpring should not use consumer reports from Millman IntelliScript or any company. They should simply contact the PCP for the most reliable medical information. They deserve a -10 (Minus 10) 🌟 rating. A 1 star 🌟 rating is way too good for them! I definitely don't recommend HealthSpring to others, especially for their Medicare Supplement Insurance.
