Highly Recommended Program But Could Use Updating of Material & Learning Tech/Platform & Access to Live Instructors
Pros: The curriculum was very comprehensive and relevant. The instructors had wonderful energy and were great at presenting the material. The pacing is very good and builds on previous weeks. Skills labs were super helpful and really essential to absorbing the material and helping to meet other coaches. The coaching sessions were also useful (as a student you must complete multiple sessions with your own coach). The done for you scripts, handouts, action guides and business materials are terrific and save a ton of time not having to create them from scratch (and you can customize to your own style and approach). They also provide several done for you bonus programs. Cons: There is no real live instruction available or ability to meet with instructors, ask questions or discuss topics. This to me was the largest detractor particularly given the cost of the program. The only way to get questions answered was through an online help desk and it was clunky and not particularly helpful for substantive responses to questions; more IT related. The website and learning platform was very clunky and not intuitive. Access to and downloading of the material was very manual and literally took hours over the course of the program. Still have more to download but haven’t had the time. Another big detractor. Tech needs a serious overhaul. Also, recordings are becoming outdated and need updating. Much of the material is several years old (pre pandemic) and while still very relevant for the core curriculum is getting stale; does not reference more recent studies, articles or current information about coaching. There are resources for building your own coaching business including references to website building tools and coaching platforms but it is all self help with no guidance as to what is recommended or how to use or incorporate into your practice. Finally, was hoping for more out of the business building module. It had decent marketing 101 basics but not overly sophisticated. Felt a bit like an afterthought.
