Very Disorganized and Heavy Upselling - Good Relationships Built with Other Classmates
There's good information and coaching techniques in the program - I have to dig around to get it and organize it. There are more than enough coaching demos and videos to watch. Sometimes, it's actually overload on the coaching webinars and they are promoted over the FB group page and sometimes on private coaches pages - it's up to you to figure it out and calendar it. That's unfortunate as I would have expected HCI to have a more organized way of doing this... scheduled out and pre-populated on our calendars on the dashboard, but they are not. As a matter of fact, I have not used the HCI calendar at all. We have empowerment calls - I don't really know what the purpose is of these. I fill out my form prior to the call and it never fails that I'm asked what I want to discuss...when it's already on the form that nobody is looking at. Also, this feels like a sales-y type call. I'm always reminded about mastery classes and fed the message of the current lesson (pillar/week) I'm in. These calls are nice, but not necessary. I get more value out of having open conversations with my fellow classmates. This is a big positive - I've developed relationships with other coaches and that will be invaluable for the future when I need advise or information. I absolutely detest the upselling during the weekly lessons (that I paid for) that really should just be coursework only. It's a waste of my time and it's also insulting that my lessons are turned into a marketing platform. It also never fails that we are asked to share the "one small step" message on social media - we are even given jpegs. This is infuriating because they went to extra step to make the jpeg so we could freely promote the company, yet we cannot get all of our client handouts zipped together in one file. Which leads me to.... I also wish the documentation/handouts were more organized. For the dollar amount paid, I would have expected that all of the coaching materials that correspond with each session overview, would have been bundled together. Instead, I am downloading documents and then going back to find documents from previous pillars and weeks and trying to match them up... sometimes we are told which handouts go with which session and sometimes we're not. It's very inconsistent and very disorganized. I find that the proofs are silly - HCI asks the same exact questions for every single proof per section. My OTR's were the same questions, my skills labs are all the same questions... who is reviewing these? Anyone? Where's my feedback from HCI on my proof? My answers go into the ethers and I also have no way of pulling those submissions back up to review myself - once I submit, they're gone. It would have made more sense for all of our proofs and other submissions to be housed somewhere on our dashboard to review. I think we would gain more if we could see where we're having trouble and where we're improving. I find some of the coaching demos to be disingenuous - I also feel like the scripts we are given will 100% need to be rewritten as we all deliver our messages differently. Why wouldn't HCI provide an open outline/draft for us? Instead I need to copy and edit and waste time on that - again, I would have felt my tuition would have covered this. It doesn't. I believe having a certification in health and life coaching will ultimately give ease to my clients, but I don't think this program is worth the money. They talk a good game of free live summits and demos and coaching calls, but all-in-all, these are sales pitches for us to buy into another program. The biggest positives have been the relationships I've built with fellow mates, the amount of documents and continued access to them, and the credibility of having the certification.
