Problem Solved!
I inherited a supplemental Medicare plan from my husband's former employer. It cost about $1400. per year. After submitting Medicare's quarterly summery, the plan paid me back 20% of doctors' costs. Of course I had to pay all doctor's charges at the times of treatment. It worked just fine for 20 years. I am very healthy; in fact the plan made money. Now, at 85, I'm seeing more doctors, & cannot afford to pay upfront & wait, sometimes months, for reimbursement.
I contacted "Health Care Select" & was counseled by a very knowledgeable, licensed, gal, Tiffany H., on what other plans were available in my area, along with their pros, & cons. Health Care Select thoroughly reviewed every aspect of my medical history: current health status, conditions, providers, medications, etc. They suggested an available new plan that includes things that my current plan does not: dental, hearing, & vision. It is also more affordable, and pays the doctor directly at the time of treatment. I am so pleased & grateful for this opportunity & experience. I've been worrying for over a year about what other options might be a better choice for me. And, most importantly, who might be best qualified to advise me.
